I am sorry and apologize but if we keep quiet and everyone is super sensitive than how does the word get out; how does the joy get shared?
Most christians that I'm friends with that want to share it do so by being good people, and being open in conversations that stray that way; but they don't ever bring up their own religion on their own. Besides, living in modern day America you'd have to look under some pretty big rocks to find someone who isn't familiar with Christianity.

Hey when I was first trying to find Him I was in tears of frustration because of everything around me. Doctrines, denominations, certain Christians, different versions of the bible. I put my feelings asdie to read the bible for myself and only than did find and understand.

Didn't you read that I also am against being pushy? Didn't read to please not take offense? Isn't it not justified for me to want to share? Hey I am not pushing and no one has to listen. I can be quiet and if one so chooses for me to be quiet and I will.

I am stating nothing about "do this or else". I have seen pushy Christians as we all have. Don't mistake my love for my God as pushy; its called passion. Please think about that.

Not talking about people not being familiar. And how can you see me do this or that if we are on the internet? How can you see if I am a good person? I told you I can give you a website of many who are well studied. Proof... where and when the books were founded amongst other things.

A lot of Christians do go about spreading the word in a pushy way, but, that's just human flaws. The religion itself shouldn't be blamed for that, IMHO.
Nor would I paint all christians with the same brush ;)

2) The vast majority of religious people, particularly in the US, are of a Christian denomination. So that makes sense.
Agreed.

I also know many many hard core atheists that will preach at you if they find out you're Christian especially.
I'd find this just as annoying. Lack of respect towards someone's beliefs......it's one of the few things in this world that bothers me.

Perhaps this is why I find the whole door-to-door selling of christianity so irritating. I (rightly or wrongly) interpret it as a lack of respect towards my religion (or lack of it).....though in most cases I suspect I'm right.

But I love my Lord so much and I know that He loves all of us and so out of love I want everyone to at least consider before they just throw Him out the door. I know what He has to offer beyond words; no words for it. This is how I see people that don't know Him yet; now tell me whats so bad about the way I see this? Please don't get offended either thats just silly. Don't read too much into it, its just a made up metaphor.

You have people every where around you starving and hungry. There is nothing but leaves and bugs around. You have found this restaurant that has free steak, fruit, milk, potatoes, you name it its there! You run back to tell everyone what you have found shouting with joy. But they scoff and grumble and go on to eating their bugs and leaves. You look around and you see many suffering. A couple may listen but they still don't believe its true because they don't see the restaurant. You know its right around the corner. So you say "please get up and follow me and you will see". But they all just sit there.

So you think o.k. maybe if I can go back and bring something to show them. So you go and pick a food choice and bring it back. "See look its real. Here it is in my hand". But many don't even look your way and some that do might decide to try it and after trying it might decide to go to the restaurant with you. But most won't consider what you have found, most won't look up from their own meals they have found that think is getting them by, most just mock you.

So you go back to the restaurant to sit and be with your family there and eat. But you can't get those others out of your mind. The ones you see needing and pushing what you have found away. Its hard to relax because many are missing. The cook seems saddened his restaurant isn't as full as can be. He turns to you after you have eaten and says "Please will you go out again and try to see if anyone will listen. Please don't sit there and say nothing. "
A. Baker, it's a very beautiful metaphor. For myself, it's like I was once terminally ill & have found this wonderful doctor who cured me.. It's only natural that I'm forever grateful to this doctor, that I will talk about him to everyone I know & share with them about my good fortune, specially when I see people with the same sickness who falsely think there's no hope for healing and that all they get to look forward to is death. Of course I'm going to tell them "Oh, why don't you check this doctor out. He has completely cured me and many others who had the same sickness."

I won't drag them to the office. I won't be pushy or angry because they do not go, but I will be sad, and I will wish & hope & pray that they will go before it's too late. You may ask why I do this? Because I love them.

Only if they realize that the cure is there. All they need to do is to seek it.

I have wondered about religion my whole life. I think that there are many gods but that they have forgotten about us some how or maybe we have forgotten to listen to them that is why the world is what it is. I know that I'm the only I can count on when times are tough. I have to be strong and stand up for myself cause no one else will. I come froma family of six kids. All the boys were Jehovah Witness's. My oldest sister is Christain. My other sister practices Native American religion and I'm bordering between pagen and atheist. go figure. My son is 16yrs old and has his own religion that he says the spirits talked to him about. His great grandfather was a very wise medicine man. I'm not gonna doubt him. My son has to find what ever makes him happy and helps though life.

Don't doubt your son ...............

Were you being facetious or do think I should doubt him?

I have had spirits visit me that is why I'm not completely an atheist. I have had people tell me a have a great power I just don't know how to use it. I don't know if I want to know how to use it.
