Well, Coop, like you I would certainly wonder. But I wouldn't assume or tell people my assumptions as if I actually knew what I was talking about unless the member told me, directly, what happened.

Not too many people know about it, but over a week ago I had to rehome Madison because of his issues. I was planning on making a thread about it, but I wasn't ready to face the replies I could possibly get.

As long as you know you did the right thing for YOU, don't care about what everyone else thinks!

I missed whatever happened, too, but your post made me ever so sad. Not for Garnet- it certainly sounds like you did right by him, recognizing that you weren't a good fit and returning him to the people who could find him a home that was one- but for how much hurt there is in it.

You're a good person, Nolu. You're a good dog owner. We see that. Don't you worry.

((((HUGS))))

Nolu, I trust that you made the right decision. It's easy for people on the internet to smear others, because it's "easy" and "entertaining" and they rarely have to answer for what they say, or show their faces.

I got run off another forum many years ago because I made the difficult decision to rehome a cat. I was called every bad name in the book, I was threatened... it was nasty. Real nasty. The dogs tried to kill that cat - they tried to KILL him, and those people thought I should have kept the cat anyway. "I could have managed the situation"... BS. I can't manage two extremely prey driven dogs trying to kill another pet in the family. We're not talking a halfhearted attempt - we're talking roaring, frothing at the mouth, trying to knock down the door prey drive. The poor cat didn't stand a chance, so I made the RIGHT DECISION by rehoming him to a vet student with no dogs.

And for those of you who know Ronin, who have seen what he's like around cats... there would be no doubt in your mind that Ronin cannot live in a house with a cat. The cat would be dead within hours, no matter how "the situation was managed".

Geez Nolu... How dare we be so selfless? ;)

Sometimes it is more love to give something over that you want so badly to someone that can give a better life.. don't know what this is about.

Nolu, I have no idea who is saying what about you, but what you did for Garnet was a GOOD thing. He has a happy home, your Middie has a happy home. If you had kept him, neither of those statements might be true. I just don't get how your totally aboveboard dealings with a rescue could possibly be fodder for some troll.

((((HUGS)))) to you (and Middie too)

Sometimes people just don't have anything better to do than to harp on someone else. It's all a shame, really.

OMG... I totally missed this. And I'm glad I did, because I would have probably been banned for what I would've said to who ever picked on you, Nolu! D:<

You obviously made the right decision with Garnet. You weren't selfish, you did what was best for HIM, even if it was painful for you. Anyone who faults you for that is just being an asshat... because you did the right thing. And I'm glad you did, because if you hadn't, you wouldn't have an adorable, smooshy dog who fits you.

She was looking to score points and decided to stoop as low as she could.

It doesn't take long for people to show their true colours. If you have to sling mud to make yourself feel better, you're a pretty low human being.

She should know better, but clearly, someone went full throttle they were making the moron section of the world.

I can say that, because it didn't make me feel better ;)

LOL

Nolu, you're a great, responsible dog owner. Sometimes a dog just isn't a good fit for a home. Just ignore the trolls, whoever it was was only trying to "get" to you.

^ I agree with that. And I have to say that I wasn't surprised. It wasn't the first she just made me go WTF in a really bad way.. lol.

You know we love you. And you should know we know that you are a great dog owner. And not one single bit less.

as far as I am concerned - no one has to explain anything on any forum of personal information they do not want to disclose. We have the right to post what we want too, and those that question- obviously do not have a life...

OMG, I have a new quote now (ok, well, I have to input just one word to make it clearer, but still). :rofl1: And you have got to stop this... my agreeing with you is getting scary.

You are an amazing dog owner and a great person all around. I've seen that first hand. Middie is such a happy dog and so happy to be in your life. I think you made the right choice for you, your family and for Garnet. No one can fault you for such a selfless act. Look what came out of it all... Middie.

Thank you all so much for saying all this. I know I've already said it a dozen times, but I really feel like I need to again. A lot of the hurt I've felt over this has been eased just knowing how much you all care. (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

I just want to put my 2 cents in the thread and echo what everyone else has said. You obviously love Middie dearly and are an excellent dog owner. You did the right thing by Garnet and NO ONE should fault you for that.

Like I said to you last night, some people are simply unable to comprehend that life is NOT black and white.
