Horrible Parvo Experience with Cloverdale, IN Breeders: They have many alias'
We purchased a puppy from Wally and Tammy Workman, also known as WRWACRERS, TAMMY GILCHRIST, SAMANTHA, TEKS KENNELS, AKA KENNELS, however we were told their business name was Affordable Puppies. They have reports under TEK Kennels with the Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana. We filed a complaint last week on them, under Affordable Puppies, which was before we found out they had numerous names. When we purchased our puppy we were told it would be delivered on November 17th, however it did not arrive when promised.
When we contacted the Workman's to find out why it had not shipped, they told us the puppy would be shipped on November 22nd. Once again, it did not arrive as they said it would. We called to ask why it was not shipped, however Mrs. Tammy Workman proceeded to curse and yell at us and say that "we were nagging her and to leave her alone". I stated that we just wanted to know when we would get the puppy we bought. Mrs. Workman hung up on us only to be called back by Mr. Wally Workman an hour later. He apologizedd for her behavior and gave us another confirmation number for Friday the 25th. We would not have minded waiting on him, however we were told several times of when to expect the puppy.
When we finally did receive the puppy on the 25th, it was obviously ill. We took it to the veterinarian Nov 26th, when we were told the puppy had conjunctivitis, ear mites and coccidia. The Workman's were notified of the puppies illness. (The Workman's stated the puppies received all necessary vaccines before shipment, including the Parvovirus vaccine and ear mite treatment.)Within 48 hours the puppy developed symptoms of Parvovirus, therefore we took him immediately to the vet again, where he was hospitalized. I notified Tammy Workman of the puppy's condition and she rudely claimed that we (including our Vet) did not know what we were talking about, but she would be glad to ship us another puppy. I told her that would not be necessary but would keep her informed of the puppy's condition. The puppy remained hospitalized with aggressive treatment for eight days before finally dying on Wednesday, December 7th. We notified the Workmans on the 7th and asked that our money be refunded for the sick puppy they had sold us. She has refused to give us a refund on the puppy and claims that we are lying and threatening them. We do not ask reimbursment for the vet bill, just the money for the puppy who was ill when we received him. I've also spoken to the Workman's vet and he confirmed that they only purchase the vaccines from his office, neither the vet or his staff administer them, nor can they confirm if all puppies receive proper treatment. We contacted the Owen County Sherriff's Department and they said that the Workman's, Affordable Puppies is under investigation by the Indiana Inspector General's office. I highly recommend anyone who can to file complaints with this office the BBB of Central Indiana and the Attorney General. The more complaints filed the higher the chance they can be stopped. It seems as though they are cheating people out of money and shipping highly contagious animals nationally. Please feel free to call or email me with any additional advise on how to bring this issue to justice.
