I was just wondering what you favourite dog was for your breed
also like your favourite dog lines or kennels

for example, i love this dog

i'm also a big fan of the oxcroft and Dandyhow lines, and orenberg, Harley has all 3 in his pedigree but mostly dandyhow and oxcroft

For the Akita Inu, I don't have a picture of him but Google Hachiko. Here's his statue...

For the Pharaoh, see my thread. The picture of Oberon shows possibly the most amazing dog I've ever seen. As far as bitches go, my foster Gaia was perfect.

The best Border Collie in the world, hands down:

lol.

But aside from my girl (who I really think is going to be a superb dog) I'm extremely fond of her dam, Kate, who embodies nearly all I want to see in a working dog.

I'm still lookig at different lines myself. Was reading about a breeder down south with s kelpie stud last night, just researching it now. He also does herding workshops and assists people in training. So far I don't know about health testing and havn't seen any of the dogs work but still interesting

My favorite of all time would have to be Ch. Dictator v Glenhugel, even though he was from the 1940s...

And his son, Ch. Damasyn The Solitaire CDX... too bad this isn't my favorite photo of him...

I'd really have to think pretty hard to name my "favorite" modern day Doberman... other than my own dogs, of course! I find it's easier to admire the dogs of old - it's hard to offend people when your favorite dog in the breed has been dead for nearly 50 years!

Edited to add... here's one of my sentimental favorite modern dogs - he's a good dog, not as long as this photo looks, with an amazing temperament. He's also the dog that was offered to me that I *turned down* because taking him would have meant Ronin would have had to have gone elsewhere... and there was no way I was going to let THAT happen! Introducing Ranger, the dog that could have been mine - Group Winning Ch. Bruda Ranger of the Night. I raised him when he was a puppy, I showed him for the first time, imagine that!

Here he is, when he was still a baby...

Wow, look at the head on the first dobe. Impressive. They seem to be a lot shorter-bodied than the dobes of today.

Outline, that's one of the reasons I like Dictator... he reminds me a lot of Ronin in the face. They have different heads, but the expression and muzzle length are the same.

Dictator and Ronin
