See, I didnt mean to sound nasty, but someone coming on and saying that makes me red in the face! I HATE that you would say that! There is no way my giving Jenny a home, and love, and if those where her last hours, everything she needed other than a vet, how could that be the worst thing possible for her?! Jenny is a CAT, not a KITTEN, and had she been taken to the rescue, she would have been put to sleep! and I will not have that happen, even if all my animals cant be taken to the vet!
you know what makes me red in the face!!!

the way you show complete disregard for your pets welfare,
you may have read about me getting a house rabbit a while back,
well i didnt post in on here, but last weekend, that rabbit became very sick,
i still took it to the vet, where i found out it had had a small seizure,
i had to stay at home and hold that rabbit in my arms as i felt her take her last breath!!!
i hadnt had that rabbit very long!, but if there was anything i could have done for her i would!!
EVEN if it meant taking her to a shelter where she would get the treatment she deserved!!!
atleast i can know i did all i could for her in her last two days!!
r.i.p tiny!

Stev, how unfair. I mean do you want her to waste the money she has for those new piercings she was talking about in another thread on an ANIMAL?

Rescue. Different than a shelter. They don't euthanize unless it would be better for the animal, not for convenience.

Oh my lord! Have you not red what I said?! I dont have 150$ to just pull out and say "Here ya go, we dont have any bills or other animals, so I can pay an arm and a leg to save one cat when I will need more extensice things done down the road!"
I know many members on Chaz are not in the best financial situation, and certainly none of us are rich. But we all do the right thing by those we take into our homes as family members, who we have a responsibility for, and who we love dearly. Part of our responsibility is medical care for those who need it. Jenny obviously needs it. Her health is more important than any bills to me, and definitely counts as an emergency.

$150 is not an arm and leg and to just "save one cat".

I just spent $300 on ONE cat at the vet and it wasn't even an emergency.

You don't get to look out in the future and see what is DOWN THE ROAD. What is happening now is happening NOW.

If you don't have the money to get appropriate care for your animals, find someone who does.
I just wanted to repeat that.

Very nicely put Nolu.........very mature and NOT talking down to her at all (as we are accused of doing).

It's a bit chilly in here.

Glad the cat is better. I'm not going to beat you up on it, but in case nobody mentioned it, **** the cost, you should have taken her to see a vet, either at a clinic, shelter, hospital or wherever a competent vet can be found at that hour. It's about priorities. Wake them up if you have to. They are used to it. My wife used to nanny for a vet and she (the vet, not my wife) would get calls at all hours from people who were not her patients who needed an emergency vet.

OK as a person who does what I do daily you need to hear me out.
You have 7 dogs and this cat and maybe more I don't know for sure but this is something I run into a lot. Your intentions may be well meant but trust me you are not helping by having animals that others would kill if you can not afford to get them care really. Good hearted keepers that allow them to yet still suffer because they saved them from uncaring people only to allow them to live a bit longer are not really helping. These are what we call hoarders. Eventually it gets out of hand and then AC has to come in and take them and the majority are PTS. You really do the animal no favors if you keep it and allow it to get mauled and suffer like that how is that worse then drowning it ? It sounds to me that you have far too many animals for your income and that these animals are not getting what they need which some day some how will end up badly. Not getting animals the proper care when needed can lead to having animal neglect and abuse charges filed on you which can lead to some mighty stiff fines, inability to ever own animals again, and or jail time. Not getting these animals attention also costs people who run rescues time and money to take in these guys and get them back up to good health, temperament test them and feed and house them until and if a good home is or can be found for them. If I and those like me got paid one dollar for every hour we spend cleaning up messes from those who allow their pets to suffer and not get proper care we would be filthy rich but alas we spend our time and money fixing others problems until our hearts can no longer take the pain and our wallets give out. Think about it and you will see what I am saying. How bad were you really hurting watching your cat most likely dieing last night and not able to do anything but watch it. If you are not ready to commit to all it is to own animals then leave it in the hands of those who can until you can do it right all the way. Off my soap box now

Agreed. Not having a vet is not an excuse and neither is not having the few hundred dollars. Many vets make payment plans where you can pay the bill over a long time period.

have you ever thought about getting a job?!?!?!?!
That's a good idea. If her family is too short on cash to take their animals to the vet, she could work to bring in the money that would cover some vet visits. I started work at the age of 14! I was a grocery bagger at Publix!! Hehe.

Im leaving this forum, I've gone of forums like this before, people will read it all, but only remeber the bad, I know none of you will ever see me as a good animal owner again, so have a good life, and god bless!
