I just want to point out that working dogs can benefit from creatine in the right doses. Dogs have extremely low creatine levels due to dog food. Wild animals, on the other hand, have a lot higher levels from the raw meat they eat. Dogs who are on a raw diet get the creatine they need from their food. The more meat they eat, the more creatine they take in. So you could say that dogs on a raw diet dont need creatine suplementation at all to imporve their performance.... depending on how much creatine is in the meat, how big they are, if the meat is wild, and how much they eat.

A lot of things are bad for you in high doses, and down right dangerous. Including some vitamins. I dont see why anyone would give their dog creatine in high doses unless they dont know how it works.

Just my opnion. ;)

i agree, noone with any sense of common deacency would give their dogs ANY suppliment in high doses, unfortunatly the people that want their dogs to this kind of extreem usually dont care as much for their dogs health as they do for their dogs look (or bulk)

Creatine is found in meats, naturally, so I dont think it would be bad for a dog. As long as you dont give them too much without enough water.

I used to take creatine myself. It gave me more energy in the weight room and helped me out a lot by making it easier building muscle.

Of course humans are completely different than dogs, but we are both meat eaters. All meat eaters consume creatine.

Just my opinion.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Too much of a good thing."? Well, that applies here.

Plus, there is a lot of debate going on right now in the "pit bull" world about the use of creatines, but one thing that is mentioned several times over & over is that it makes dogs run hot.....meaning they burn out faster.

Again, the dog in the picture may be some generic "pit bull", but it's not an American Pit Bull Terrier.......not at that size with those flews & wrinkles.

I would *hope* it's just weight pulling but a while ago their was a controversial pic of a pit and people were saying she was so ripped she must be on steroids, and she was nowhere near like that dog.

That's my friend's dog you are talking about & I can guarantee you that not only was/is that dog not doped up, but there is no way in hell that the owner would ever do such a thing to a dog. That dog has it's muscle structure from genetics & exercise (& not even that much because she's predominantly an inside dog).

Exactly. Thats why I made the point about vitamins. Overdosing on some vitamins can be deadly. Too much of a good thing is bad in many cases.

I agree 100% that the dog is not pure bred. I have no doubt in my mind that he part mastiff of some kind. The hanging lips give it away completely.

Yup I agree that that dog looks like a Bandog.

Its amazing how a little extra work can tone a dog along with giving it the right type of food. I believe in toning a dog the NATURAL way, not injecting them with roids. Heck I dont even believe in bulking humans up using steroids.

At the kennel, Chevy is the most well-muscled one. The muscles on his hind legs are so toned, that guy is just absolutely RIPPED! Such a good site to see especially when compared to the majorite of house pets around here (here as in, my area, not necessarily here on chaz) who carry more flab than muscle. My vet and the vet techs always comment on how toned and in-shape OC and Ronan are. They're so used to see over-weight and ill-excercised dogs, that getting in-shape dogs at the clinic is like a breath of fresh air!

I wasn't saying she was on roids, I was saying she was part of a controversial thread and people were saying that. I think she's beautiful.

After that thread, I actually think it would be best not to comment on someones pictures found on the internet. I just don't think it is right.

Too funny guys... the picture of the "dog" on the washing machine has been computer enhanced/photoshopped. There is muscle mass in places that muscle does not exist on a dog, (any breed) and a reason the coat looks like skin and this came from a bodybuilding site. Someone is having some fun with everyone.

I would feel sad for that dog if it was real. Can you amagine how restricted his range of motion would be? I think its disgusting. Thank god its not real!
