Some of you may have read on other post about my dog,Hunter, getting hit by a dumptruck about a month ago. I got Hunter from my uncle, who had him since a pup. He gave him to me because Hunter was too rough playing around his two small girls, ages 2 and 4.

Some of you might remember my other Catahoula, Daisy Duke. Its been awhile since I've posted pics of her. This is one of the old pics of her I had posted awhile back.

This is Hunter

Buckshot,my moms kitten, and Hunter

Turns out, Daisy is pregnant with Hunter's babies. It happened so fast, and the whole family loved Hunter so much. I'm giving my nieces one of the puppies for their birthday to remember their old Hunter. The girls are older now. As for the rest, we're keeping them all but splitting them up among the family to continue the Hunter legend.

OK PEOPLE. i came to this site for my love of dogs and animals. i was hoping to meet new people and share things with. I guess I over estimated myself. They are my dogs, NONE are mistreated. My dogs i was planning on breeding had papers. And even if they didnt, a DOG IS A DOG. I adopt from shelters, I have mixes and purebred dogs. What is everyones problem? Im not going to live my life following you peoples "rules". Dogs have babies, petstores sell dogs...this is reality. All of your dogs were once inside another dogs stomache. W/e I cant explain myself. This will probablly be my last visit to Chaz.

Chaz doesnt need people like you on this board, honestly. From the statements you have made, I wont be shocked to hear the pups end up in a shelter themselves.

And the dogs that end up in petstores, come from puppymills.... may be "reality" as you say, but it is NOT right and to even bring that up in a defence of yourself, really shows what kind of person you are.

I just hope for you that those puppies won't end up with bad genetic problems because you were so careless in that breeding.

There are a ton of BYB's and puppymills that treat their dogs wonderful. That's not the point. The reality of life, which you should already know is that many here rescue or adopt dogs from breeders such as yourself. Should the members her pat you on the back or congratulate you for something we feel is wrong?

And what does "a dog is a dog" mean????

I'm sure she takes very good care of them but breeding dogs that are not worthy of it is irresponsible and wrong. Her dogs are probably great pets but that does not mean they are good for breeding. There are millions of dogs in shelters, as you know, and making more is not doing anyone a favor. We need to breed dogs to keep the breeds going but we should only be breeding the healthiest dogs who fit the description of their breed enough to be champions in the show ring. If those standards were not there for breeding then every single person would breed their dogs and there would be even more in shelters and dieing every day. Without the health tests you are making dogs with potential health problems that are painful and some life threatening when it could have been avoided. With out a dog conforming to the standard of the breed or working how the breed was initially intended to very well you are making more dogs who do not help their breed survive and thrive and there for these dogs are useless in keeping the breed alive. Dogs should not be bred simply for the purpose of pets, there are plenty of pets waiting for homes in shelters, they are being killed as I type. People should not be breeding for pets they should be breeding for amazing examples of their breed to keep the breed thriving. Your dogs, although wonderful pets, were probably not worthy of breeding. GOOD breeders breed for show dogs or working dogs and some of the puppies that are born are not to standard or of the highest working ability so they get sold as pets, because they can not do what they were bred for.

I AM terribly sorry about the loss of your dog and know how special it must be to you to be having his puppies but please after this, don't have another litter.

Infact, your probably dixie in another account because if you knew ANYTHING about responsible breeders, how many dogs are in shelters currently, and her stance on "dogs are just dogs" you wouldn't be defending her.

Get a life.

While I don't agree with these breeding practices, I don't think any of us here at Chaz should ever refer to anyone as "trash"!! :(
Dena,

I'm not sure if you saw her website, but I did. She asked for help on it awhile back, and gave her yahoo address.

Since I am somewhat familiar with website formatting, etc., I offered my help.

What I saw was quite sad. She had planned this breeding for a long time, and even told me so through yahoo messenger. She bragged on her website how she was such a great breeder and she'd bred mutts (no offense anyone!) and sold them for outrageous amounts of money. If you look at her dogster family page, all the dogs on that page were either used in breeding or were planning to be bred. I ignored her that day, and shortly after she disappeared from the forum, probably to avoid these "High Horse" posts.

Calling her trash was a bit much, and I apologize for that. However, I have always been one to say as I feel, and personally, that is how I feel about BYB's. They are trash to me.

I remember dixie and her website, it was disguisting honestly. She constantly has puppies/babies....wonder why.

dogs aren't just dogs, they are people, they are like people in many ways. And so are cats.
I have to disagree. Dogs are NOT people, neither are cats. Dogs ARE dogs. Cats are cats. Being a dog doesn't make them any less, it just makes them a dog.

I didn't really... You know everyone says things like that when they get mad.

I got mad when she said "Dogs are just dogs". NO dog is just a dog to me!
