Of course people change. But people devoted to each other change together. They know that in order to make a relationship work, it takes TWO, it's not one-sided. I get so annoyed that people think all young married people are doomed for failure because most of the oldies didn't make it. "Oh he changed for the worst.." yeah and what about you? DId you change or did you just stay the same? way to put the blame on the other versus, blaming the two responsible for the relationship. The nerve of some people.

If you're responding to my saying people change over the years, I was not talking about marriage at all. My earlier threads explained my thoughts about marriage. I've been married 27 years. I think marriage is a commitment that should last the rest of your natural lives. People inside a marriage do change, more than likely, but it doesn't change the commitment they made.

Of course, you might not be referring to my post at all:D .

I wasn't, actually. I haven't read through the last few pages- just wanted to say something that had been bothering me since the day before and it pertained to what I had already read. ;) But thanks for your reply. :D

I understand now. It seemed like a response that could have been to one of my posts, but it dawned on me while typing that chances are it had nothing to do with what I had said. Mine aren't usually one of the 'must read' posts anyway:D .

It took awhile for me to realize this thread was about marriage, too!! I was thinking it was a general 'perspectives change over time' subject-line. But I got caught up on that a couple of pages ago!

I ALWAYS read your posts mjb. You know why?

Because you arrive with a match not a blowtorch.

I just don't like to argue (my husband would beg to differ, I'm sure)!

No point in arguing about religion. It's not going to change anybody's mind anyway. And, I know I would get my butt kicked in a political debate, so no need to go there either.

It's nice to know someone reads my posts, though!! I'm not complaining. I know everybody has threads/posts that go unnoticed, and I know mine aren't some of the more spirited ones, either.

Im guessing because people change, they get older, sometimes they experience something that makes them change their mind.. you never know.. I mean you cant really expect a person to stay the same and have the same mindset their whole life...

Thats my .04 cents
I dont think people change as much as some may improve hopefully;)
