About your dog(s): Merlin is a 1 year old Australian shepherd who enjoys long gallops through the beach, squeaky toys, peanut butter and shaking his thang. I like to call him the world's goofiest service dog lol he works on/off, but alerts always.

Interests: Being a literary glutton, running, documentaries about strange things, cheesy romantic comedies, any dreamworks movie, books not for my age group,

Favorite music: Lyrical pleasant pseudo pop music mostly lol a lot of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, OkGo, Beyonce etc..
Mixed with movie scores, I love John Powell

Favorite book: Impossible question!

Books that fill me with the most wonderful nostalgia as they were my intro to reading? Harry Potter

Classic: Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre..

Most recent favorite: Stardust by: Neil Gaiman

Favorite quote: “And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.†-Roald Dahl

Random fact: When I was in college all freshman year before I had any friends I never wanted to eat dinner alone on friday/saturday nights (when the dining halls are full of groups of friends on their way out), so I would go to wendys (and get nuggets/fries/vanilla frosty) and then go home and eat it while watching the cosby show because it made me feel better
Now watching the cosby show makes me crave french fries and vanilla frosties.

and Merlin

I look like hell but it's the first picture of us together

About your dog(s): Caleb (will be 8! on Monday) is my scarey smart Lab. Thankfully he doesn't use that intelligence to get into trouble. He's always up for an adventure, no matter what it is- hiking, parades, shopping, festivals, visiting school. He doesn't care, as long as we're doing it together. He's definitely a Momma's Boy.

Interests: Besides dog training, I love to read. I used to do a lot of crafts, too, but somehow have gotten away from it.

Favorite music: Country, especially the old stuff from the 70s and earlier.

Favorite book: Convoy

Favorite quote: If I had to pick just one it would have to be "Dumb is good"

Random fact: I grew up on a small farm near Woodstock, NY.

Oops! Forgot a picture of Monkey Dog & me! Labor Day Weekend 2013 when we finally got our RA.

Don't mind my attire in this picture, it was taken after a long day of doing performance shows lol.

About your dog(s):
Cobain - golden boy, the favourite, the reliable one, heart dog. 8 year old male Border Collie.
Rigby - Nutjob, crazy quirky, typical "little sister" annoyance to Cobain. 5(ish) year old Kelpie mix.
Oz - geriatric beagle. Obsessed with playing fetch, and will play for longer than the herding dogs
Ruby SoHo - 1.5 year old little mutt, Border Jack maybe? We ended up with her because she was "too high energy," she sleeps most of the day.
Interests: Hiking, agility, reading, playing guitar
Favorite music: Metal, Rock, and Rockabilly
Favorite book: The Rising
Random fact: In high school I played an instrument called the "valve trombone" it's basically a giant trumpet with none of the fun of a trombone.

Interests: Dogs, biology, bones, bad adventure novels...
Favorite music: Older country, mostly.
Favorite book: The Hobbit, American Gods.
Favorite quote: I don't really have one, but at the moment I'm really enjoying;
'My favorite songs of all are the simple ones.
the ones that talk of trusted dogs and comfy worn in boots,
and love that goes down easy like red wine in the autumn
and trees that are grounded by their roots.' - Battle of Butte Creek, Kate Mann
Random fact: I have Marfan syndrome, and it still feels weird to be open about that at work.

About your dog(s): Watson is a 2 year old Welsh Springer. He's a doofus but he gets away with it because he's pretty. I finished his championship in May and we train in some other sports for fun.

Interests: Horses,(though I don't have the time/money to ride right now), dogs (of course), reading (mostly classics, 19th century Brit Lit and some fantasy). I'm interested in home decorating and gardening, though I mostly read blogs about them and don't actually do them. :rofl1: And I love to cook and drink wine and beer

Favorite music: classic rock, some modern rock and pop (whatever I hear on the radio and happen to like), classical

Favorite book: hmmm ... probably Lord of the Rings based on how many times I've re-read it

Favorite quote: No idea! I can't think of anything off the top of my head

Random fact: My first job out of college was in the food industry - I made goldfish and Milano cookies. Yum!

About your dog(s):
Cohen 4 year old Aussie. Love this dog. She was supposed to be a family dog, but through a series of unfortunate events she's mine now. She's very much my dog.

Megatron 8 year old Chihuahua. She was a rescue via my husband's family prior to our marriage. She's a good, easy dog, but too soft and fragile to be my type. She's very much my husband's dog.

Interests: Dog training. Video games. Hiking. I'm trying to branch out and get more into airsoft, exercise & motorcycles.

Favorite music: Folk more than anything else.

Favorite book: Probably God Bless You Mr. Rosewater by Vonnegut. Anything by Vonnegut really.

Favorite quote: I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

Random fact: One of my favourite things in the world is a really bitter, really cold IPA after a long day. Mmmm beer.

I don't really have many photos of myself. Here's one of me carrying Cohen off the field after a great run/failed gamble at the regional championships a few weeks back. She was a good dog.

About your dog(s):
Gunslinger's Wanted Dead or Alive JJR or The Outlaw is my 9 month old Black Lab pup and my first sport dog. He's a goofy, crazy, intense, sweetheart of a Lab and has pretty much stolen my heart in a way that no other dog has.

Takoda is my 4 year old Lab/Pit Bull/Whatever mix. She's a rescue and has numerous FA issues and is socially awkward, she's a great dog, and has such a good heart despite having so many fear issues. She's VERY much my boyfriend's dog and loves him to no ends.

Interests: Dogs, Art, TV, Reading, Hunting, Fishing, Outdoor living, Dock Diving

Favorite music: Whatever sounds good

Favorite book: The Harry Potter series <3

Favorite quote: "My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on." - Forrest Gump

Random fact: I have bad anxiety issues when I'm separated from Outlaw to the point that I'm training him to be my service dog, he makes life so much easier for me and helps me cope with the world.

About your dog(s): Seamus is a nine year old rescued mutt (he was a stray beforehand so no real clue what he is a mix off). We adopted him from the shelter when he was approx. one year old. He's a grumpy old man but I absolutely adore him.

Paris is a six month old Border Collie and my long-awaited puppy. She's been such a fun pup and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!

Interests: Dogs, literature, travelling.
Favorite music: Anything 90s alternative.
Favorite book: The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

Random fact: I'm in a sorority. :p
I don't really have any pictures of me and my dogs because I'm usually the one TAKING the pictures, but here's a pic of me and my little brother.

About your dog(s): I have none. But I do have a cat.

Jazzy 5 year old Siberian Cat. She was my second cat. She was bought from irresponsible breeders, which, at the time, I had no clue what one is. Were not even sure if she has a pure pedigree. I still love her to bits ,& she is my heart cat.

Interests: Dogs, Cats, Meteorology, Psychology

Favorite: I really don't have a favorite.

Favorite Book: Where The Red Fern Grows

Favorite Quote: I have two. One animal related,& one not animal related

"A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. -John Grogan"

"Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being." –
- Kevin Kruse

Interesting Fact: I'm an extremely late bloomer. Then doctors were always worrying & were clueless on why this was happening.

Nickname/Preferred name: Andrea (although you can call me Blackrose, I will respond.)

Occupation: veterinary assistant

Age: 23

About your dog(s): Abrams is my 15 month old male Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Long story short...I was able to acquire him through some planning (although the original thought was for a male black Labrador) and a lot of luck (thank you, random person, who backed off the waiting list at the last moment), and he couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I honestly don't know what I would have done, and would do, without him. He's my heart.

Cynder is my husband's 8 year old female Retriever/Spaniel mix. Her world revolves around her daddy, I'm just an acceptable compromise when he is gone. She's miss goody two shoes (most of the time ;)). She was diagnosed with megaesophagus in October '13, but she's doing VERY well and is very easily managed.
20140708_151941 by blackrose13459, on Flickr

I may also reference "my" Collie mix, Chloe. She is 7 years old and lives with my parents. I adopted her my senior year of highschool, but her behavioral issues make her a much happier dog in their household environment (country) than with me. I also have a cat, Apollo, who also lives with my parents, for much the same reason. Gracie, now my mom's 5 year old Dachshund, and Cooper, now my Grandmother's 3 year old Yorkie, were also in DH and I's possession for about a year when their prior owner, Michael's uncle, passed away. So I may reference them as well. :p

Interests: reading, piano, hiking, and gaming with friends! (Oh, and dogs, of course. Also typically any small furry animal.)

Favorite music: A little bit of everything, to be honest. I can go from symphony orchestra, to punk, to hard rock, to symphonic-metal and love it all.

Favorite book: Can't pick just one, so I'll name three series. LOL The Dresden Files, The Hollows, and The Kingkiller Chronicle.

Favorite quote: "Do not worry about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

And Terry Goodkind's Wizard's Rules.

Random fact: I don't have my ears pierced because I a.) can't stand the thought of something actually piercing my ear and b.) having to worry about earrings would drive me batty.

I don't have a lot of photos of myself, because I'm normally the one behind the camera. Let's see...

About your dog(s):
Meg 9-ish year old Mountain Cur. The most perfect being on the Earth.

Gusto 3 year old Border Collie mix. The most ridiculous being on Earth.

Interests: Horses (recently lost my horse of 15 years to cancer, so now it is more of an abstract interest), agility, reading, hiking.
Favorite music: I really never know how to categorize music. Sort of folk/acoustic/Americana/pop stuff. Musical theater. Country.
Favorite book: The Plague by Camus. I loved it so much in high school that when I was in college, my high school AP teacher (who introduced it to me) contacted me to apologize for removing it from her curriculum.
Favorite quote: Today I'll pick: "Nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear." - Albert Camus
Random fact: I have probably, in total, had one alcoholic drink in my life. It is practically a game for people I know to try to get me to drink, which I find weird. But it is just not for me.

I think this is the only picture of me I have on the computer, other than ones with Gusto standing on me. From when Meg got her P-ADCH.

I agree sooo much. Even though it has some pros, it is absolutely obnoxious that my younger sister is always assumed to be the elder sibling. Always.
Yes! I even get asked if I want the kids menu. No, I do not want the kids menu, I'm not that young. My sister is 5 years younger then me,& she's still taller then me. People either think were twins, or think she's older then me.
