What's your favorite animal? (aside from dogs of course)

I LOVE CATS!!! I know alot of people here may find it odd, but I jst LOVE them...
they are so low-maitnence. Alot are very playful and love to be held and toted around. Sure, they are independent, but certainly not all of the time. Heck, my Bagels (kitty), is themost people-oriented thing!
My cat sleeps with me every night on the bed, head on the pillow, body under the quilt, plastered up against me. Just like a human. He is sooo soothing, I love to just come home to sleeping cat on my bed, I just lay next to him. He isn'texactly what some may call 'exciting', but he is sure a lovebug. While some situations in my life may not be suited for dogs, I know I'll always have cats by my side.

. Though I would rather have a male then a female. I love male cat personalities they're great lol.
Rats all the way baby! I had these little boogers as pets for seven years! Sadly I developed an allergy to them that no meds would kick, or no combination of meds either. I was even on steroid shots for it.. didnt work!
Other than rats, I like rabbits alot. I have two that I adore!
But those are more like... my favorite PETS. I guess my favorite animal is a tapir. I love how the babies look like they are wearing PJ's. I also love antelope, deer, gazelle and other critters like that.

What is wrong with me..............
I used to love cats.... but that was because I had one, well two great ones in my lifetime. I feel nothing can compare to those two. I have rescued several homeless cats but have always rehomed them... I never had the connection again. And my current dogs are not really catdogs..... get it? cat dog...
I love ferrets.... but the smell really bothers me...... So I haven't got another after our first one died. He was probably about 7 years old. He did have a wonderful life despite the smell.
I also love squirrels... I raised several litters. I always slowly introduced them back into the wild and they eventually took off and did what I wanted them to do.........live free. But when they are being raised as young'ins they have personalities alot like a ferret......without that smell. They would play like a cat, but snuggle like a dog. I did love them so...... I am just glad I had the opportunity to help an orphaned wild animal and in the end.....was rehabilatated enough to live a life as it was born to.
For now, I guess I am just a dog person..............
But I also love horses and goats...... Someday maybe I will have experience with these, but for now.... I can only wish.
I hope to have a pet goat and a couple horses...... but that will be down the road aways...... when we are actually living without neighbors when we have our house finished and are in the middle of no-where....
