It smells... clean... at the moment lol. I've only had it for 2 weeks, so dirty, stinky, algae-covered Juno hasn't put her mark in it yet. :D

I do need to pick up some air fresheners though. Anything with vanilla is my favorite.

No crayon scent as far as I've noticed
Ahaahhaha, why is it that VWs smell like crayons?! My brother-in-law has a jetta that's like 11 years old, and it smells so strong like you've just stuck your face in a box of 64 Crayola. It would drive me CRAZY! You'd think the smell would go away or fade or something, but no, apparently it doesn't.
ETA just went back and actually read the thread and saw this was all addressed earlier. So there I go, haha.

Mine smells like... MKV GTI, lol. They all smell the same pretty much, just a faint aroma of leather and vinyl. I can't stand strong scents, clean cotton is about the only one I can stand.

Btw the crayon scent in VWs is the rust proofing. Beetles seem to smell more than any other though, lol.

My car smells like Crayola Crayons all on it's own. That's the natural smell of a Beetle. I have had this verified by other Beetle owners, and regular passengers regularly ask about it.
That is awesome! Does the smell vary depending on what color Beetle you have? :lol-sign:

My car currently smells like some flowery air freshener I got from Bath & Body Works ages ago, and recently discovered in my glove box. It plugs into the cigarette lighter when the car is running, so it supposedly lasts longer than normal air fresheners and you can buy refills.

It's MUCH better than the eau de dirty puppy, leftover latte, and lord knows what else that the car smelled like last week. I should probably vacuum it more frequently...than every 3 years.

Right now my car smells like dog shampoo since Gavroche's shampoo spilled everywhere >.<
At least that's a *clean* dog smell!

It's certain years of VWs. I believe it's the type of glue that was used. Mk4s usually smell like crayons, too, but mine was one of the first produced and thankfully doesn't smell like that. Lol.
Yup. I do believe that the Crayon smell comes from the glue, as stated, used in the cars produced in Mexico. :yikes:

As for me,

I like Coconut in my VW. I prefer Vanillaroma but the yellow doesn't flow with the blue paint.

Ask redhotdobe about it... I think I'm up to 20 or more right now.

He put at least three of them in before I got in the car a week or two ago. I almost died. Quite odiferous. I can't handle artificial scents in such a high concentration.

As a side note, I don't think they really smell much like coconut. :p

LOL. I see how it is.

I apologize.

What made that so bad is that we had to keep the windows up from all of the rain. :(
