Once somebody asked me if Norris was a pit bull.

At the dog park people usually guess hound mix, cattle dog mix, maybe some lab, stuff like that. One guy thought he might have Swiss Mountain Dog in him. Um kay. :p

I am almost 100% sure that's why Traveler gets called a GREYhound
:rofl1: I'm dying. I never even thought of that one.

Lancer has gotten mistaken for a husky, collie, and a lot of people called him simply "sheepdog", though that's kind of correct?

Rara has been called too many things. Chihuahua, King Charles Spaniel, Aussie puppy (kinda correct, but...?), and border collie OFTEN! And even more that I'm not remembering.

Hugo gets called Dingo (usually in a joking way) and a beaver once when he was swimming (in their defense... he kind of looks like beaver when he's swimming). Basenjii twice and Kelpie once or twice. Most dog people think he has ACD in him.

But OVERWHELMINGLY I get either husky mix or MINIATURE. GERMAN. SHEPHERD. Apparently any dog whose coat is brown with black tips is a GSD. In fact, just today I had someone INSIST that he was a purebred mini gsd and offer money for him.

Zora usually gets Rottweiler or Doberman. Also: What a pretty mix you have! and: Oh my god, what's she got on her back legs? Is that a mutation - is she sick? No, no my dog is perfectly fine, actually. She is a Beauceron. Beaucerons have 2 dew claws on each rear paw.

I've also been asked if Zora is a Labrador. Yes. Because every dog out there is a labrador. Labs do not come in feu et noir, seriously.

Scout my French Brittany is a: "that's an interesting looking dog, is it a? a? what on earth IS that?". My favourite guess "Cocker spaniel x whippet"

Kepler my border collie pup is always a husky.

Most people can guess Gael is a Border Collie, then they say she is a beautiful colour :)

In the early days I had people not believe my guys were JRTs because.. You know... They were hairy and tall... JRTs had to all be smooth and short legged!! Past few years not so much, no ones ever guessed Crosby wrong, they just say Jack, though occasionally I get is he a Parson?
