Seriously though? That is one of the things I have the hardest time with. It's not easy to be the middle(wo)man in fights between friends.

I do try to talk to them, just to get their take on the subject. I find it helpful to be able to see from all perspectives before I try to help them patch things up. If their stories don't match up that well I just tell them that it was a misunderstanding, and that usually does help them make up. If they interpreted things they way they were meant to be interpreted, and one (or both) was really a jerk.. Then it's a lot harder.

Personally, stay out of it if at all possible. No need for you to get involved and end up with both of them mad at YOU! Just tell each of them that they need to work it out between themselves, and you are going to stay out of it.

I tried to stay out of it the first few days but it's really getting in the way of all the fun things we did. This is how our conversation goes most of the time
Me- Want to go get frozen yogurt?
Friend 1- Will Friend 2 be there? If he is than I don't want to go

It's so annoying! And then here's another conversation

Me- Why are you and Friend 1 always argueing? I don't like seeing you guys like that. Can't you guys apologize?
Friend 2- Only if he apologizes first
or
Friend 2- So now you're on his side?

I would talk to each of them and let them know that they both are equal friends to you so you will not take sides ...that they have to work it out. See each separately until they are willing to make up. Never, ever ,say something to one that you wouldn't say to the other or it will back fire . Good luck !!

That is GREAT advice! But, these two won't listen to me. I stand there talking for 5 minutes, but they're just so competitive they won't apologize until the other apologizes.
