Mysti is approximately 1-2 years old and lived as a stray for God knows how long. She was found on a rancher's land with three puppies (all got adopted) and has always been friendly, if a little reserved. She rarely makes any noise, but when she does bark it is LOUD and deep.

I adopted her from the shelter I volunteer at back in March. She had been sitting at the shelter since November (literally only one person showed any interest in her and she ended up scaring them for some reason). Most likely it's on account of her pure black, with one white smudge on her chest, coat.

She weighs 40lbs and is a very lean dog, she is free fed and nibbles through out the day. She has a jog that looks like she is gliding across the ground and not expending much energy to do it, if that makes since. No other dog I've owned/been around as done that. She is high energy and loves to run.

She is double coated and has already blown her coat (pics are before that happened). She is friendly towards most dogs and does not appear to be reactive at all. She is super bonded to me and wants nothing to do with people if I'm not around.

Here are some pics (mostly from March/April).

Super cute! I love her.

Hmmm hard to say. What breeds are common in your area?
My "easy" guesses would be shepherd chow maybe?
Or black lab and husky

Your description of her gait sounds like a Belgian Shepherd or Siberian Husky. Considering Belgian Shepherds aren't all that common, I'll say Siberian & GSD maybe with some Chow. Funny thing is, except for the tail, she reminds me of a very large Schipperke.

Pits, Labs, GSDs, and ALOT of people for some reason have huskies (It stays in the 90s almost all summer.)

I had someone else tell me she looks like a giant Schipperke! :rofl1:

I definitely see some spitz....husky, or I was thinking something like American eskimo or even a much larger dog mixed with Pomeranian would be possible.

If she was mine I'd likely just say spitz mix or husky mix. Maybe with some GSD or lab?

I have her listed at the vets as a "Husky Mix". I looked at some of the Pom X Eskie pics and she does have the right head, but the tail is wrong.

Ooops, I didn't mean I thought she was eskimo mixed with pom....I mean I thought she might be something else (shepherd, husky, even lab or anything), mix with EITHER eskimo or pom. (And that if she has any pomeranian in her, it's likely mixed with something much larger)
