Holly's not afraid of anything in particular. She's unafraid in a brave, "I can take you" sort of way. She's the first one to run after ANYTHING in the backyard.
Rig's not afraid of anything in particular either, but in more of a "too dense to know better" way. Holly will run after something and he'll follow with a "I have no idea what you're chasing, but yup, I'll go too" look on his face. You would think he'd develop fears of, say, toads for example. He ate or chewed one once and was horribly sick for a few days. A week later... he was off hunting. So now we check the yard every time we let the dogs out for cats, squirrels, slow chipmunks and lurking toads.
Oh, he is afraid of me being gone. As soon as he figures out I'm leaving and not taking him he starts crying. After I'm gone he mopes in my office. If I call home he starts crying and wailing (I'm partly deaf so our phones are high volume ~ scared the crap out of me when "The Captain" used to call). And when I come home he'll be at the door all happy, then totally ignore me for a few hours.
Jesse.... Jesse's a spook. He's scared to walk on his own so we always have to take one of the other dogs along. He's afraid of anything on wheels (bikes, rollerblades, skateboards). He's nervous when people get in his face or come up behind him. He's big and has very expressive, gentle eyes so people are ALWAYS trying to get in his face. "Ohhhh, poor scared doggy... Can I pet him? Don't be afraid of me doggy, I won't hurt you" Meanwhile he's trying to back up around the nearest tree. The one fantastic thing about him is that he IS gentle, one of the kindest dogs I've ever had. We take him for walks in the park every week, he's improving.
