I know I'm not around much anymore, but if anyone could spare a thought for Lyra that would be awesome. She has a suspect bump on one of her legs that we took her to the vet for today and it turns out she has cancer - a mast cell tumor. She's not even five yet and we are absolutely heartbroken.
She goes into surgery on Wednesday so the oncologist can "aggressively remove" as much of it as possible, but he said it's in a bad spot and it will be difficult to get the margins he would like to see. Then we will be on to radiation if necessary but I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. On the plus side he seems optimistic that if he can get it all, the surgery should be curative.
So if you feel inclined to send some happy thoughts her way, that would be awesome. Thanks guys
