Eli has been limping for about 2 weeks. At first it was very subtle and it came and went. We figured he had strained something but it is getting worse instead of better. It seems to be his right front leg. In the past couple days, it looks terrible, but he doesn't seem to be slowing down any - still wants to run around and play as much as ever. We're trying to get him to take it easy as much as we can.

he has a vet appt Thurs. Anyone have any idea what this could be? He's 14 months old and has always been healthy.

also, vibes would be much appreciated. I'm worried about my little guy. :(

First I thought of pano from bones still growing.

I'm also thinking maybe a pulled tendon and needs lots of rest for it to heal.

Sending healing vibes.

I wondered about panosteitis. The problem is getting this dog to rest. I mean, let's face it, he's a year old lab mix puppy and his brain hasn't grown in yet.

He still wants to run full speed up and down the stairs, chase after the cats, and wrestle with Chowder. Yet to see him walk you would think he can barely stand on that leg. I swear if he was a kid I'd accuse him of faking it.

the vet thinks it's just a sprained shoulder. Testing for Lyme and other tick borne diseases was negative. :) She gave us some anti-inflammatory pain medication and he's supposed to rest for a couple weeks. No running, jumping on and off furniture, roughhousing with his brother, or going up and down stairs. Now I just have to figure out how to convey this to HIM.

One of my dogs gets this if he does excessive running after the ball, and then we have to stop for awhile. I'd say leash walk him or let him out by himself so he doesn't play with the other dogs. Can you put a gate across the stairs?
