that was really cute, i was walking Volka my CAO not even 6 months old but pretty big ..and very very friendly with everybody, as i was walking him at night we just went in a private parking lot .. and as i was pulling volka to get out....suddenly a guy (he is a worker who takes care of the parking lot and he lives there in a room) came out of his room and said to me in a rather aggressive voice: Who authorized you to came in here??? then Volka who is friendly to everybody , just exploded towards him , i had to pull him back as hard as i can , and he started barking with the deepest and loudest bark i have ever heard, ..so i told the guy to go back in his room coz i cant hold the dog for long,..so he just ran in his room slammed the door and locked it....then volka was really proud of himself and i was laughing like hell....i guess his protective instincts are starting to develop!

Hilarious that your six month old LGD is already starting to show aggression and you can barely hold him back now.

Pretty sure that's really not something to be proud of.....

I guess I'm just happy you don't have a 'pit bull'.

Sounds like a lawsuit and a muzzle order waiting to happen.
Struggling to find why someone would be proud of this?

1-well sorry guys but volka is not aggressive at at all and he surrounded with love and he adores kids and other dogs...
2- he did not show aggression towards that man, he showed some spirit and that is what his breed is ....after all he is a guardian and you cannot ask him to be circus dog.
3- the guy was pretty impolite and aggressive himself , he could have talked to me politely..it is an open parking lot with no gate and it was empty and there is nothing to worry about except i might steal the pavement!!!!!!!!! it is quite normal for people to walk across parking lots and usually the worker there says hello!
and volka was really cute acting like a grown up!

Aggression is not cute.

Your dog was being fearful, he is not old enough to understand protective instincts at less than 6 months.

You have a behavioral problem that you can't handle and will soon have a liability on your hands if not a lawsuit.

The man was doing his job, you were on private property if your OP was correct.

Again, not cute. Unstable and unpredictable and unsafe.

There was NO threat, so your dog did not defend you. He was spooked.

maybe i'm missing a backstory, but a COA is a type of dog that will do that. I'd argue should. In a normal situation with normal people acting in a normal way, if a dog is fine, i'm fine. If someone quickly comes out of a room and speaks in an aggressive type tone to get a reaction from me, I'd expect a guardian breed of dog to react like that. I had to tell some people not to try and get reactions from my dogs because they might not like it.

now if you have a dog like this, it is YOUR job to make sure people people don't get hurt. Doing something like this is not a reason to get bitten by a dog. If your dog is going to get too big and you're not going to be able to control those situations, then you have to take steps to avoid them and keep everyone safe, especially your dog.

You said you can't control your dog. You're encouraging fear aggression at this point, which is not the same as being protective at all. If he bites someone, you're going to be looking at a lawsuit.

Pretty simple, no matter where you live.

sure i have the best trainer around and volka is the cutest and most friendly dog you will see.... and thanks for undertsanding the situation rather than judging me like the others..... i dont need a dog to defend me ..my dog is my friend... in fact if i did not have the dog , the guy would have been in more trouble with the way he talked to me

he was not questioning he was pretty aggressive and impolite ...and he was not guarding anything he just takes money from people who park..there is nothing to guard it is an open parking space... his behavior was not normal and he was being a jerk, with the words he said.. he was lucky i had the dog with me and i was in a good mood

"Who authorized you to came in here????"

Such a jerk.

He's too young to have protective instincts. If he were another 6 months to a year older, I can see that being the case. But he's not. They mature slowly and don't understand the thought of threats and defense until they are mature.

my dog is a CAO and he acted as such...i dont see the tragedy in that
It's a mix of CAO and modern town/city that is the problem. I mean, what happens if someone does that and you're not ready for it? If the threat comes from behind you so the dog pulls you backward? Obviously he will just get stronger and more defensive with age.
