Sorry, but don't you American claim you know anything about good cheese! Had to say it
I miss European cheese so bad... My favorites - gorgonzola (not the dried tasteless thing you have here), Munster (same thing), Epoisses, Camembert (raw milk please, not pasteurized crap!), Buche (goat cheese), Charolet, Brie (not the American style one), Chaumes, St Nectaire, Appenzeller, Boursin, Beaufort, Caprice des Dieux, Tome de Savoie, fromage blanc (it's a kind of yogurt but sweeter, I'm still crying over the fact that we can't find it here... It seems it's called 'fromage frais', but i have yet to find some).
It's all I can think of and I'm too lazy to go down your list. I'm sure there are probably 20 more. I really have a hard time with American cheeses, I won't mind a sharp cheddar from time to time, but I'm glad there is Whole Foods around, as they carry most of the ones I listed.
