Hard to say what the problem is, I don't find Random Questions very time consuming, you literally only have to enter a few extra characters before you post. But there does seem to have been a drop in posting, and I don't think it's all because of the big threads. Fran's right, when I post stuff in either it's almost always stuff I wouldn't have made a thread for anyways because it would be ignored.

I think getting rid of the questions and adding some new spam-only mods is a good way to start. Seriously, we have so many long-term and (I think) trustworthy members here that I'm sure we could get a team going that promised only to handle spam (or if possible just restrict mod responsibilities to post deletion only).

I mean, the list of current mods:
Zoom, Gempress, smkie, Renee750il, filarotten, Buckshot, dr2little, Buddy'sParents, RD, ACooper, eddieq, Baxter'smybaby, chazhound

The majority of them have been totally MIA for months or years. Which, hey, nothing personal, it ain't like they're paid lol, but if there were some active anti-spam members we might not need Random Questions and posting might pick up again.
This, and the quick reply box. It takes longer (and sometimes SIGNIFICANTLY longer if I'm on my phone) to go to a whole new page to reply, when I could have just replied from the same page and saved myself the time.

That, and there are so many topics that are unofficially "off-limits" because a certain few throw fits and ruin the topics.

I can't agree with all of you more

I don't think it's a stupid vent at all.

I NEVER thought those huge threads would unfold into what they have now. People post BIG NEWS in them and I'm like, give it it's own thread
ON THE OTHER HAND, I see wanting to post in there instead of having a thread with 0 replies.

The root of the problem IMO is the loss of the quick reply button and the security questions.

honestly, I'd take the spam back 100% if it means reviving the conversations going on in chaz.
I've been guilty of it too but when it's takes 5 steps to post (including a **** math question)...it just takes too much TIME.

I mean sure it cut the spam down but at what cost.

WHY CANT NEW USERS' POSTS JUST BE MODERATED? AND THEN BRING THE QUICK REPLY BUTTON BACK AND DITCH THE SECURITY QUESTIONS FOR THE REST OF US
new users are being moderated anyway!

It's such a first world problem but sometimes I honestly feel like the only reason I come here is out of habit.

Or instead of having the constant stream of "owners" and new servers, open expenses of running chaz to members like other forums do (for gold status or tshirts or calendars or w/e)
I agree with nearly all of this.

And pretty much everything the rest of you said. I do t have enough quotes.

The reason I don't post anymore is because I'm always on my goddamn phobe. I hate texting on iPhones. Keyboard sucks and it takes forever. I don't text anyone anymore because of that, as well. I used to text all the time. Hate it now.

I just really want a week where I don't have to do a damned thing at all.

Contemplating a pint of ice cream. I've been soooo good about eating right though. :( But working so much. Oh the debates in my head!

Today it is finally stupid gorgeous out and I begrudgingly got ready to go to work. I get into full babe gear, haul my happy ass down there, and get cut the second I walk in the door because surprise, it's gorgeous and no one wants to be inside. No one called me to save me the effort and trip, but whatever it's 5 PM and I'm free!

Get home and my old lady Magpie rips her entire toenail off and a bit of her toe. I have no idea how. We combed the deck, the yard, etc. She just came in bleeding every where and made no indication she was hurt. Spent the rest of the lovely day at the e-vet. :p

Well after waiting for four freaking HOURS for them to clear an accident we gave up, so we turned around and I am not going to make it to the agility trial. Just **** you Mother Nature **** YOU. You locked me into the city for 6 months with this **** already, spring hits and surprise more ****ing snow...bringing us to 7 months of snow, and 3 months of brutal cold. **** You.

I agree, and ironically given the subject, this is probably something that should be posted separately more often. I doubt anyone who can change things reads a thread like this much. ;)

Yeah and on a phone it's a PITA (yes know there is an app but on an iPhone you have to have an Apple ID ... Which I have but my credit card info has expired and I am not with the bank I had it with anymore).

All this random questions stuff was supposed to be temporary anyway, I mean come on  the solution has been found, so make them to away already and bring QR back!!!!!

This is more funny than any thing, but Magpie goes to the e-vet for her toe.. I land in the ER today after dropping my lap top on mine. Somehow there was no fracture but the doctor said I obliterated the soft tissue. I have to work in an hour and a half in wiener dog pajama pants and a walking boot.

This is soooo annoying. I've had a cough/bronchitis thing for like three weeks. I do regularly get this (any time the boychild brings home daycare germs, it turns into bronchitis for me), but for a long while I had prescription cough meds that would shorten the length, since I wasn't constantly irritating things by coughing. But, this time I had to go to a different urgent care, and that doctor couldn't give codeine cough meds due to having no dea number. (and when I called five days later to see if I could just get different cough meds called in, they said 5 days was too long of a time span:rolleyes:)

I'm sooo tired all the time. I had half days all last week and I'd planned on doing a ton of things with Brooks, and by the time I was off work at 2 or so, I was too tired to do anything. Same thing today. I wanted to go hiking, but I'm just too, too tired. Annoying. I even napped for like four hours today. Did not help. Poor Brooks.

It's a three week wait to get into a "real" doctor here as a new patient, although at this rate I'll still be coughing then. I'm coughing less, but it's still at an irksome level.

Gotta love it when your family comes over and eats the last of your food. Thanks. Not like I haven't eaten at all. But it's cool. At least I have half a protein shake left.

Urgh last night I was kept awake with such a sore inside nose I felt like I'd snorted a hedgehog.

Today it's a cold, sneezing. Booooo. Bonus - it's not sore any more.

Anyone ever had this problem? Lately I've been having a problem with eating... not because I'm worried about my weight or anything, but a number of things:

1) Recently done several necropsies and opened up the GI tracts of a few animals. Squeezed out their stomach/intestinal contents (checking for lesions). Trips me out to think of the food you're eating traveling through your body like that.

2) Switching my dogs to a raw diet, I started thinking more about nutrition. Like... this is the first time in my life that I ever really thought of the things you ate as nutrition, I just thought of eating food as a delightful past time (also eating helps me avoid being "hangry")

3) Most of the things I like to eat aren't very nutritious. Candy, junk food, pizza. The thought of my body going through the work of digesting those things and getting little out of it is extremely disturbing to me.

The thought of eating just weirds/grosses me out. It's like, "Omg, this pizza will be sitting in my stomach for 5 hours. It's going to turn into a weird goopy mushy texture. And then it's going to travel through my intestines for the next day or so. And then it'll come out of me. OMG THAT'S FREAKING WEIRD"

Also. Whenever someone posts a food pic on Facebook. It's like, "Omfg, that food is currently in their stomach looking like slop right now. OR PERHAPS THEY'VE ALREADY POOPED IT OUT"

Can't stop tripping out over this. The thought of eating food literally squicks me out so much I can't enjoy eating anymore :yikes:

Also, every time I look at an animal or person, the only thought on my mind is, "You're little more than a bag of organs and biochemical reactions!"

I'm having an existential crisis over here Dx

There is something majorly wrong with this stupid robin. It is pouring oceans outside and the dumb thing is STILL beating away at my front windows. No other birds are out in the open. None except for this psychotic female robin.

Also, it seems to wait until I wake up or come home before it starts in on the windows. Why? Bird, you are wild. Go do normal wild bird things. Get on with your life, eat worms, lay eggs and stuff. I am not a bird whisperer, I cannot help you.
