I am Catholic went through first communion confession and was confirmed. one thing I learned in all these years is that God and Jesus love everyone unconditionally. Have you forgotten Jesus stepped in front of the women and said not to cast a stone at her for you will be casting one at him. It is not for you or anyone from any denomination to say what is right and what is wrong in this matter. It is God who is the judge not you, You should be more concerned with serving the will of god then casting stones on decent people. Directly impacted your family sounds like one of your children or a close relative is gay, may god have mercy on your soul for what ever harsh remarks and pain you have caused this family member.
