I will start by saying sorry that I haven't been here much the last few weeks. Nine Terv puppies keep a person quite busy....
The D Litter is 8 weeks old today. This week, all but one puppy are heading out to their new homes. Sunday was vaccination day. One of the new "moms" is a retired nurse. She came down to visit and helped me vaccinate the 9, and Constantine. She had her isogel with her, and her latex gloves, read the directions, asked me if I had picked up epinephrine (which I had forgotten), then told me she had some in the car in case we needed it. We promptly went to work vaccinating the babies. Very quick. Then it was cuddle time.
Yesterday was bath day. A friend came out and together we bathed all nine pups. It was hot out, so we didn't bother with the blower. Nine bathed puppies = nine puppies with the zoomies.
Today I am cleaning house - basically re-claiming it after eight weeks of puppies. Tomorrow morning I pick up one of my new puppy people from the airport, grab some groceries, then come back here to wait for the stud owner and my other home to arrive (they're flying in together and renting a car). Micha will get her bath tomorrow afternoon while we wait. Tomorrow night will be an evening of food and wine and puppies. Thursday, the stud owner leaves with two puppies (hers and another one that will be living in her area), the lady traveling with her will be leaving with her puppy, the other person flying in from the other side of the country will be leaving with "our" boy (on co-own), and when I take her to the airport I am dropping off the boy who is flying out to the Maritimes to his new home. So that's five gone. When I get home from the city on Thursday, the retired nurse is coming out to get her boy, and one of my local homes is driving out to get her boy. That leaves the two girls: mine who is staying, and the other local home's puppy. She stays until the 10th.
The house is going to be ever so quiet in just a few days. Even the momma is leaving - heading back home with the stud owner.
Here are pics of the pups playing after their baths yesterday. There are more on my website.
