Just ordered some weave poles. Slowly ordering my dog sport items (being good and remembering I need to eat and pay some bills :p) to have a jampacked summer of dog related days. :D

Meanwhile I have my eyes on this lovely split-face bi-blue with a really nice looking pedigree.

But it's literally all the way across the country and I don't really trust anybody else to evaluate structure nor temperament when it comes to dog sports. And it's not a dog sport person.

BUT REALLY CUTE PUPPY.

I did some good problem solving today and actually found a legit use for my Manners Minder lol. I was working on back vaults with Cajun, but I'm using food right now since we're just starting. Which led to her vaulting off my back, which is great, but then she'd quickly whip back around to me to get her reward which I didn't really want to keep building as habit... I don't need her thinking this is a rebound :p I want her to keep driving forward.

Anyway, tossing the food away from me wasn't working because she wasn't seeing it. So AHA! Realized I could set up the Manners Minder so that she could vault and drive right to her reward. Worked fantastically. And it makes me laugh how SUPER EXCITED she gets when we use the Manners Minder, even though it uses the same treats... she just thinks it's like the most fun thing ever.

Pro tip: chihuahuas do not make good boulder scramblers.

Went hiking and now we're all covered in ticks. This is annoying mostly because they skeez out my husband, who is prone to night terrors. I expect him to leap out of bed shrieking about them at 2am.

Umm. Why did I ever say no to getting a dog? Shooting that opportunity down was just not a great move on my part.

Nextdog will be 2017 or later. So, I still have a lot of waiting to do until then.

In the mean time, I'll probaly start to volunteer at Animal Shelter. I don't just get to be around dogs, I'm able to help them find a new home.

Lincoln peed in his crate last night, but I know why ... yesterday was a warm day here and I played with them about 4:30 or so to about 5pm, and he must have drank a lot of water before he came inside ... I kicked myself because I KNEW this and should have taken him out at 11pm before I fed them ... but he's been making it through the night so I was lazy and didnt ... now I have a crate to clean ... again ... all because of my stupid, lazy ass ... I prey he's not going to have a lapse in house training because of this :(

Note to self: on days when he drinks a lot of water, TAKE HIM OUT BEFORE YOU FEED THEM!!!

No, I put them in at 7pm (thats when it gets dark here now, its too risky to leave them out after that, too many coyotes around) I feed them at 11, then they are let out at around 6:30am (when it first gets light here).

he and Josefina drank a lot of water that day ... I should have taken them out but I was lazy and didnt ... stupid stupid me, I definately wont be making that mistake again, thats for sure!

Mine also get let out before bed, though they don't always go. Brisbane will wake me up if he really needs to go, Ru will also occasionally get me out if bed to let him out before peeing inside, and neither if them would pee in a crate without making a whole lot of unusual noise first.

So I noticed last week that Lucy had a couple loose incisors. Decided last minute this morning to bring her to work with me for a dental since I knew we had time. She had 8 teeth extracted. :( Her mouth is deceiving because she really has like, no tartar buildup and her gums look okay too, but her incisors were horrible and she had some deep pocketing along her molars. I'm such a bad person! I really slack with her dental care, and she had a couple questionable teeth that we're deciding to leave in and see if aggressive home care will save them.

I'm just glad I'm in a position where I can do a spay and a dental within 2 weeks of each other, and not have to cut corners anywhere or feel like I'm short changing one of the dogs. This job has perks.

In the last month, Cohen has knocked out a top incisor, broken a bottom canine, ripped up her stop pads running on frozen ground and almost poked her eye out with a stick last night.

She's only 5, but she's falling apart! Or ripping herself apart.
