....in the form of a beautiful brindle pit bull puppy.

My hubby came home from lunch and said "Ummm....I found a stray in the front yard. I brought it into the courtyard." And lo and behold, there's a smiling pit bull standing on the patio.

He's beautiful! Not huge and hulking, just the normal-sized pit bull. Uncropped ears, fabulous brindle coloring, and a bit on the thin side. He looks young, maybe 4-6 months old. I noticed he wasn't lifting his leg on anything either. And he's sooo sweet!

Zeus absolutely loved this little boy. Within two minutes, they were romping up and down the courtyard. Very brave of this little boy, considering that he's half Zeus' size, and Zeus tends to play rough. The people we've asked think the pup might belong to our neighbors across the street. But their yard and house is padlocked, so we weren't able to get in and ask. We decided to keep the dog in our courtyard until we can get ahold of the neighbor.

I've been repeating "No, we can't keep him. We don't need another dog. We can't afford homeowner's on a pit bull. And we can't keep two male dogs in the same house."

Hubby had been absolutely no help. The man has always wanted a pit bull. He says "You know, our insurance guy is a friend. He'll just say the pup is a terrier mix. And I had two male dogs before...."

Gawd, I really hope this pup belongs to the neighbor. That way, I don't have to face the dilemma of whether or not to keep him. It doesn't help that I'm home sick from work today. All I can think about is that sweet little dog snoozing next to the front door.

Help!!

Pictures, Gemp, pictures! That way we know exactly what you're turning away and we can 'comiserate' your "loss" with you.

I bet he looks good in red. :D

He sounds adorable! If he does belong to the neighbor, he could still become Zeus new friend. Good luck and thank you for taking him in.

You guys aren't helping!

I'd love to post pics, but I don't have a digital camera. My hubby took a picture of him on his camera phone and tried to email it, but it didn't work. I think I'll go to my parents' house and steal their camera.

We're definately going to make every effort to find his owner. But since he's a pit bull, I'm very hesitant about putting up posters or anything. Too many unscrupulous people try to steal pit bulls, and I don't want some stranger to falsely claim him. :(

All right, I went to my parents' house and got the digital camera. I figured we'd need pictures of him anyway if we ended up having to make posters. He's pretty dirty, but still just downright cute.

"Aren't I just adorable?"

"Are you my new mommy?"

A break in playtime. You can see Max, Number 1 Kitty, plotting evil in the window.

Zeus is doing absolutely nothing to help this matter. He keeps crying to go outside and play with his new friend. *Sigh* Like I said, I really really really hope to find his owner....

What a lover !!! Looks like he has some bird dog in him...so I wouldn'y worry about insurance. You might want to check to see if he's micro chipped.

uhm one last opinion if he does have an owner they might not be tops. he looks pretty skinny to me, of course that all depends on how long he was lost for
