I've noticed that randomly Annie will start chattering her teeth, almost like a person would do if they got a chill and were shivering badly. She only does it for a few seconds and then stops, other than her teeth chattering she seems fine the whole time. Is this something that I need to worry about? I plan on asking the vet when she goes in for her booster shot on Friday, but figured I'd ask online until then.

Psyche will do that when I have a toy she looooves. It's a "oh em gee I'm so excited!" thing for her. One of the GSDs at the kennel I'm working with does it too, when she's waiting to be allowed to tug. And I've seen another dog, BC, do it while he was watching the dogs around him running. I'm quite sure it's just an excitment thing.

Yeah, I was gonna ask, is she excited when she does it? Pepper "clacked" when she was a puppy and she still does it. I got her all riled up when she was playing with me and she came snaking across the floor clacking the whole way.

I sat and thought back and every time I've seen her do it has been in an exciting situation (running around with the girls, trying to be a land shark with me, trying to entice the cats to play, etc). I'm glad it's just an excitement thing, I've never had/seen a dog do it before.

I always put it off as excitment or picking up a scent better. Blaze does it after he smells a dogs pee, I just always assumed (and read I think) intact males do it to pick up the scent in urine better. never thought of t for other things.

Marley (cat) does it if she a sees a bird, or hears me sneeze lol

Tucker did it the first time when we were at petsmart (his first time there) and he had just sniffed something. I think he was overstimulated or excited.

It could also be a sign of tooth pain. I went through a lot of dental stuff with my little aussie girl, and she would chatter her teeth some at night, I had her teeth cleaned etc- but she continued to do this, and it increased too ( there were other signs of obvious dental problems too). When I had her treated-- full x rays and many teeth removed, the chattering stopped totally. Hope this isn't the case for your girl, but maybe worth taking a look- does she do it ever, if you go to touch her face?

I haves owned/own and seen many, many dogs do this both male and female. Both when very excited and directly after smelling something interesting.

Nope, I highly doubt it's tooth pain right now she has sparkly white puppy teeth. I did check to see if any were broken though, and all look intact.

Could be early seizures.
Have you hit your head at some point in your life? If so, my apologies and of course you should get a pass.

But otherwise, really? Do you just like to copy and paste random things you've found on Google? Because if you're actually serious with your posts... :yikes:
