Well, Khaki is now 4 months old. She is becoming very vocal, makes all kinds of noises/sounds. She'll look up at me and it's like she's really trying to talk to me and tell me something. The way her mouth moves it's like she's trying to say words, it's the funniest thing...And she has started the infamous purr sound that Aussie's make. Almost sounds like a bird.

Haha! You will find that you can have a conversation with her if you want to. It'll probably translate to something like "Hi daddy hi daddy hi daddy!" "Well aren' you just so excited?" "What?" "What?" "Huh?" "That's a funny noise!" "I have no idea what you're saying, but it's attention towards me, so I'll take it! Woo wooo wooooo!"

I love that talking! O'Reilly was a big talker . . . and a singer. He used to do his impression of Ray Charles - a big favorite, and appropriate given O'Reilly's blindness. He'd sit and raise his chin up and sway back and forth, looking just LIKE Ray Charles (only with a blue merle Aussie coat, of course ;) ) and croon; notes way down low and soft, then right up the scale and louder. He really was melodic!

Oh, and do any of yours do The Dance? O'Reilly just loved to bounce and run in circles, twisting and yipping the whole time. I dubbed it the O'Reilly dance and he would do it whenever he just seemed to be overwhelmed by the sheer joy of life.

Sawyer does the Wiggle. He'll lay on his back and and wiggle around, and talk to himself the entire time he's doing it. Then he'll give a puppy yip, look up to see if anyone is watching and go right back to verse 2.

Haha, Khaki hasn't done the wiggle yet...although her butt does go back and forth when she wags her tail. She does like to chew on her toys while laying on her back, talking the whole time. She'll roll and twist around while playing with her toys.

I'm hearing new sounds from her every day, it's hilarious.

Zoom, could you maybe get a video or something of Sawyer howling? My BC x does that all the time. We're trying to figure out if there's another breed in her besides Shepherd.

One more question about eveyone else's Aussie's....

Do they all have to get to the highest thing they can get on?

Khaki always gets up on the back of the couch and lays up there...sometimes sleeps up there. We laugh and say she's part cat. She also stretches like a cat, her feet will all be close together while standing and her back will arch up, just like when a cat stretches...

O'Reilly didn't, but I'm sure that was because of his blindness. We built him a doghouse that was raised about three feet off the ground and had a deck around it (with a net) and he loved it though.
