You'd never know he'd been sick.
He's barking his head off because it's feeding time.
I'm still giving the enzyme.

We found powdered antibiotic (thank God) so no more injections for him at least for now.
I'm going to have him weighed today - if he's gaining he does not have a B12 deficiency I guess, since B12 is essential for weight gain...?

Will update after I swing by the vet!

Luke's bloodwork is back, his EPI test was normal or whatever, doesn't have that, but the SIBO test was positive, that is, his folate was low and that indicates the bacterial infection (???) in the small intestine.

Luke is abnormally hungry right now or at least completely stressed when it comes to meals, so I'm hoping the vet can get my B12 injectable prescribed so they can send it.
She didn't have any of it, either, or I'd have just got a shot of it from her.

It is my understanding that SIBO is often seen with EPI but it can also be a 'stand alone' disease?

I'm glad you were able to get some answers.

I don't really know much about SIBO, so I can't tell you anything you wouldn't find googling. Keep in mind too, they can have maldigestion without it being EPI specifically.

Hope he continues to feel better.

Bacteria can cause low folate by blocking absorption of it, but I think other things can cause it too.
