Any training/confidence tips for this one? Already got confidence for jumps, tunnel and 'dog walk' type obstacles... but doesn't get the point of this one... and spooks (not scared, just wants off) when it tips...

Do you have the ability to have some one 'help' you? Like 2 people to teach the obstacle? If you do, I'd have your 'helper' tip the teeter so the 'down' side is a few inches from the ground, and have the dog get on at the contact like they are running down, soon as the dog hops on, click and treat. Do it a decent number of times. Make it a party, lots of fun.

The next time, raise it up a little higher and have the dog and you do the same. The bang happens when good things occur *clicking and treating* so it's fun times.

If the bang was ever the issue, the very first step would be to have someone bang the teeter as you treat to help desensitize.

Then I'd have the dog run up the teeter, and have someone step on the end so it can't tip. reach the top, treat like mad, and take the dog off, keep repeating it. Next would be to do the same, and have the helper slowly let the teeter go up and down under control while you feed, so the very end is the awesome place and they don't care. When the dog is running up fast and having fun have the helper let the teeter go slowly to the ground with you at the end, let it down as you treat and release the dog off.

Next time do the same and let the last few inches bang and release and click and treat, next time a little higher, etc.

While it's a longer process, you'll have a teeter surfing dog who likely will end up loving the teeter.
