Ok
So a lot of people were laid off at my company recently. My co- worker went first, and we did a giant photo frame of a lot of the pics we took over the years, trips, lunches ,etc- my boss printed all the photos on his computer- so he HAS all the photos we ever took
..............fast forward a month of so, they lay off my boss.
I am arranging a lunch for him (Tuesday) everyone has been invited, restaurant bookedetc
the gift I ordered was a book written by a well known and loved CEO of the company in the company's golden years- and my boss's prime years. I thought it would be a nice reminisce for him
I went to pick up the book - at Borders...............they had no record of my order, said they dont carry the book!!!!!!WTF I am pissed- I ordered it in PERSON and got told it would be in within a week!! Its too late even to have one shipped from Amazon................which I should have done in the first place

Anyway..................can anyone think of a non lame retirement gift ??
(company gives nothing these days - I am buying it myself)
My husband say lunch is enough- but I feel kind of empty handed

Anyone have any suggestions.....................would be appreciated

(Am off to take a look in shops, and will check back in couple hours)
