I just changed Mason and got him dressed. As I was taking off his jammies I noticed on the ride side of his chest was a bunch of tiny bumps. I looked more and they are all down the right side of his back and his ribs under his arm on his right side.

They are really tiny bumps and they aren't red or anything. They don't seem to be bothering him. He also has had dry skin and I am not sure if they could be a result of that?

But he just started taking C-Phen medicine for the first time 2 nights ago. He has a bad cough and a bit of a runny nose. Should I call the doctor?

I would definitely call the doctor ESPECIALLY if he has other symptoms and started a new med!

I did call the doctors office and they said it isn't an allergic reaction because it would be red and not just in that location.

She said it is probably just a skin issue, and to be sure to scrub him good in the bath and to put good lotion on it. We have been using Aquafor and I am going to try to put it on him more often and see if that helps.

And obviously if it gets worse or starts to bother him to call back.

I was going to say check with the doctor to be sure.........but it sounds like a dry skin issue to me.

One of my girls get those little white bumps on the back of their arms if they don't stay moisturized. I think the skin gets dry and tough, blocking off the hair holes then the little fuzz hairs can't get through........sort of like ingrown hairs but not painful or red. Does that make any sense? LOL

Looking at the bumps again, I am starting to get a little more concerned. Now I can see that they are red. Some spots are a little bigger and they do look kind of like little blisters. It seems to have spread a little though the spots on his other side are few where he still has a lot on his right side. I guess I will see how it is in the morning and maybe call the doctor back.

My nieces were just here and they had chicken pox recently. But they were clear when they came and reading about it, it says its not contagious after all the blisters scab over and they didn't even have the scabs when they came. They had chicken pox the week before.

I just took some pictures of the bumps and am in the process of resizing to post them. I don't really know.

I looked up images of eczema and chicken pox and dry skin and I can't really tell from the pictures on google because most of them look really bad.

It looks just like Chloe's skin did when she was diagnosed w/ eczema. I would use vaseline or something similar. Really greasy and unscented/unmedicated. If is doesnt get better go to the doc and they will prob give him a steroid cream.

Of course, I cannot guarantee that its the same but it looks identical to Chloe's skin issues. It still flares up somtimes but i have her prescription cream left over.
