is there such a thing as a prepaid cell phone plan that is TEXTS ONLY? i dont need minutes, dont want data, i just need unlimited texts or at least 100 a month, and i dont have a ton of money, even Boost $55 a mo is too much
I have straight talk ,unlimited everything $45. a month. My daughter has boost mobile $30 a month 300 talk minutes and unlimited texts not sure how much data.
I'm not sure about being prepaid, but there are absolutely plans that are text-only. Many are developed for deaf and hard-of-hearing customers that have no use for phone service.
I can't find anything on T-Mobile's site after a quick search, but I know that they have one. I took several years of ASL classes with deaf instructors and they all had texting-only plans, and they all raved about T-Mobile and how cheap it was (this was 3-4 years ago).
Read the terms on the prepaid phones. Most will say "200 minutes" but in reality the terms say it's an accumulation of texts and minutes. Texts count as 1/2 minute... So if you never talked you would get 400 texts AND a lot of those plans are not monthly, they're pay as you go with the minutes expiring 3+ months after activation.
I can't quote you exact prices, but if you only need 100 texts/month I'm sure you can find a plan for around $10-15 for 100 or 200 minutes(which would be 200-400 texts) and then you would just pay again when you ran out.
Verizon has something where you only pay for the days you use. The fee is for unlimited use for that entire day (can't remember how much- my sister was telling me abouit). There's no fee for the days don't use your phone.
