From what I have heard, the SKU mentioned doesn't even fit the format Nutro uses, so I'd be suspicious that it was actually the food that caused a problem in this case.

It seems like I remember a very similar story about a different dog food and the owner had GSD's.........the story line was almost exact though.....

The sad thing is that a lot of things circulate on the internet, and they are not always true.

In the recent case of Diamond for example it was true, and the company reacted by putting information up on their website, alarming distributors and so on.

Sadly there are people out there who thrrive on spreading rumors and getting others into a panic, so it's generally a good idea to do a bit of investigating work.

Although I HATE the Nutro company, you cant blame the dog food unless you have some proof. We had a simular thing happen in our neighborhood a couple of years ago. Same symptoms. The only things the neighbors could think of was someone was throwing things over the fence for the dogs to eat or a lot of houses were being built during this time so there was a lot of mice. If the mice were eating peoples poison, then the dogs were getting the mice. I know I found a couple in my yard. As for the Nutro company, I worked for them for 1 day and said no way! They have a lot of weird policies. I wish I could tell all but you have to sign a form that you are not allowed to discuss company policies. Sorry guys.

OH, I forgot. Nutro Large Breed does have corn in it. I got into a little tiff with the person that was training me because she said that Nutro was corn free. Not true. Corn Gluten in the inside of the corn. I think corn gluten is the forth ingredient in the Large breed Ultra, Natural, and Max.
