Mango has been acting strange this whole week, she charges out of the house and search for POOPS !!! And she will gobble them down like she hadn't eaten for days. She doesn't respond to my calls nor whistle (which she does before this) and just lie her nose down, search for them & eat them like gourmet food...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Will this be a health hazard? She hadn't gotten sick or what just its disgusting since the 1st time it happened 4 days ago, i reach into her mouth cos I thought she ate something and was gagging...out came my fingers and it full of poo...and it sure smells like -puke- dun wanna say that..its just yikessssssss...

a lot of dogs can eat poop, but with it coming on so suddenly i would have thought it might be somthing like worms, although if she only just tried it 4 days ago she might of only just realised how tasty it was lol

If it is just her own poop she is eating it can be becase of poor diet, with some foods they can come out the other end smelling just like it did when they ate it because it cant be digested properly, but this sounds like it just any poop not just hers

is this the only behaviour change you have noticed in her?

is she usually a very obident dog? if so to overide your commands and proform an act that you dsiprove of must mean she really wants those poops! Has she also started to gobble down any food you give her as fast as she can? If so it seems like she must be feeling really hungry, having worms can make a dog feel really hungry because they suck up all the nutrients out of the food :( , has she been wormed recently? .. anyway i think a trip to the vet would be your best option, good luck

Just dewormed her last week, and yes she does eat her food ip pretty fast, maybe I should increase her food intake.
Yes she is usually very obedient and I'm really disgusted by her poop eating..will try to make her more food and see how it goes

How old is she? When they get to around the 8 month range sometimes their brains simply fall out. It sounds like that stage is what you are describing.

As far as the poop eating it is very common. As long as she is not eating that of unvaccinated dogs, or other animals.........raccoons feces can be deadly to a dog, she is fine. Also of course the worming, if she eats another dog who has worms while then she will need regualr worming herself. It is gross yes but the only real guarantee solution is to pick up her duties the second she does it and keep her on leash or in a fenced yard until this phase passes by.

OMG i was nearly cring after reading that sentace! :D

I did not mean literally fall out, if it does just pick it up and stuff it back in. LOL

I meant they seem to forget everything they ever knew and they seem to go through a phase that us humans refer too as the terrible twos, troublesome threes. I have two dogs in it right now and two human babies in it too. That is why I am going grey and losing my hair alittle more each day. I am starting to think the padded white room may be aweful comfortable right now.:D

Some dogs can't resist a tasty morsel of feces. These dogs will eat their own excrement or that of another dog. Some prefer horse feces, others cat feces. Frozen feces are popular in the winter time. Gross!
In the past it was believed that feces eating, also known as coprophagia, was caused by either poor diet or poor health. However, this theory is not supported by current research, and is rarely the case.
Behavioral research has discounted the idea that it is a dietary deficiency because dogs are historically scavengers, and this is believed to be a scavenger behavior.
Some pups learn this behavior from their mothers and will stimulate themselves and consume their own feces. Most pups stop by the time they are weaned, but not all.
It is more difficult to understand why adult dogs eat feces. Some dogs will learn this behavior from other dogs. In some cases, eating feces may be an attention-seeking behavior. For some dogs it is possibly due to anxiety or boredom. Most often the motivation for eating feces is just not known, due to the fact that we don't like to admit it just might taste darn good to them.
Owners find this habit in their pet disgusting -- particularly when the consumed feces are thrown up all over the new carpet. In addition to being socially unacceptable, eating feces exposes the dog to parasites and diseases.
Keep the dog's yard clean by disposing of feces promptly, this is the best way to go about it. That or keep your dog on a leash while going outside to do his business... this is one of those things that doesn't have an easy fix.
Feeding the dogs (since you said your pup is mostly eating others?) garlic, pineapple, or pumpkin is believed to give feces a bad taste, making it less attractive to the dog. There are also tablets that are made to do this at most chain pet stores... I myself have never tried this, therefor can't say whether it 'works' or not.
I, myself, suggest teaching a solid 'Leave It' and use it as soon as the thought of looking for poop crosses your pups mind.

Ah, puppyhood. Full of laughs and handfuls of hair strangly missing from your hair... Hang in there, and it will totally be worth it in the long run :D

Hmmm....I can try to add some pineapple / garlic to her food ..when she is out for her walks, I usually let her go unleash but wif her newfound 'hunting' spree, I'm darn sure she will be leashed till she learn poo is bad & learn the word "come" again !!!
