really I'd rather not have either of them! But if I absolutley had to choose I guess I would choose a miniature schnauzer.

Will either dog come with a set of earplugs or a mute button?

I'd have to go with schnauzer, as right now I rather hate any and all beagles. We have probably 7 or so beagles at work right now and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has done nothing but bay at the top of their lungs ALL. WEEK. LONG. My head is killing me and I have to go deal with them at 6am tomorrow morning.

Schauzer, because they are more trustworthy off-leash (with the right training of course ;)).

That's so hard because I like them both. I wouldn't mind having either of these breeds. Five years ago, I would have said Beagle, hands-down. They're one of the cutest breeds and friendly, too. Since then, I've known 2 mini schnauzers who were great little dogs, and easy to train, so.......

I think for my situation right now with very little open area to run, I'd go with the Schnauzer. However, I really prefer a Beagle.

I'm another who wouldn't really choose either, but of the two, definitely beagle! I can take a hound's baying over the schnauzer's non-stop yipping any day.

I'm not a huge fan of either, but I'm going to go with the Schnauzer. My parent's neighbors breed Beagles, and I have yet to meet one that I like.

I've always had a soft spot for Beagles, and always thought that mini schnauzers were for the wimpy kid who had allergies, but after owning beagles, I'd rather try the schnauzer. One dog I'd like to have some day is a giant schnauzer. We met one down at the beach a few months ago and he was a great dog, very similar to a GSD type in intelligence and attitude.
