The clone tool and heal tool in gimp are my best friends.
I use them SOOOO much. It's how I get rid of a lot of unwanted background things.
I also use the dodge/burn tool a lot.
And the lasso tool.
Oh, and curves.
ooops, and I'll use the sharpening filter, too.

Lol the clone tool is my friend. I love the liquify tool. Want to loose ten pounds in that pic? No prob.. 1 min with the liguify tool and you are there. To bad it wasn't that easy in real life
