I'm looking into getting a patio panel dog door, the kind that fit in the sliding glass doors. I'm researching them to find out if they are worth the money or not. I've been reading mixed reviews, one will say they work great, and another will say they are worthless and cheaply made. I would really like to find one that will work great and last, especially since they are around $200 for the size I need.

Does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?

I've had them before, and it's a great thing. The one I had was pretty sturdy. My dogs would go head first into them all the time while they running from the other pups, and never knocked it down or even broke it. In my area there isn't a lot of crime, I'm kinda sorta in the country. I don't think I'd have one if I lived in the city though.

My main concern is the dogs knocking it out of place, and making sure its wheather proof. Just like last night we had real bad storms and I want to make sure they are sturdy enough. Lucily my back sliding glass door faces north so it doesn't get the strong southwest wind that is usually with a storm, but in the winter it would be a different story.
Do you know what brand you have or had?

My friends parents had one and they had five largeish dogs and it lasted for the five plus years I went over there. I have no clue what kind it was though. I wnated one but I can't fence in the area off eitheir of my sliding doors so there wasn't really a point.
