I love weight pull! I almost got into it but I backed out because everyone I'm close to said it was cruel and that isn't an image I really want. But when I have a big dog I will be doing it for sure.

I do agree with him about the 'having an outlet' It's a safe and legal way for them to show off their dog's smarts and strength instead of fighting.

Yet another reason why I'm glad I'm not close to anyone, and that I wouldn't care what they thought even if I was LOL

Weight pull is a great sport... but it needs to be taught properly, and the dogs need to be a certain age first. I'm just worried about people who rush into it with their dogs unprepared... dogs are going to get hurt.

for the most part i think they are wasting their time. the thug turds use the dogs to show how tough the owner is. if the dogs don't fight then the owner is a wuss.
real dogmen (not many left anymore) want game dogs & dogs can only be game if they prove it in the box.
with both groups i see it as something to do in addition to not instead of fighting.

My boyfriend is interested in doing weight pull. He's thinking about teaching his dog, Zobby. I doubt Zobby will ever compete anywhere, but I know he'd enjoy it. He loves running, jumping and riding a skateboard.
