Yummmm...sounds good! I love pork roast. Did you ever try putting some garlic and caraway seeds on it as it cooks? That is how my ex did it and how his Mom did it. They were from Czechoslovakia. Then they cooked cabbage with caraway, onion and bacon and added a little vinegar at the end. Then we'd have Czech style dumplings. They're not as fluffy as the German type....more dense. Then you put the gravy all over the whole mess. LOL. It's very tasty. I learned how to make the dumplings and all that stuff. They're not very hard at all. And mmmmmm. good.

I did. She's just so biased with the breed. Try all her posts from all the other topics. [mod.edit] Pitbulls are already getting a lot of negative battering. [mod. edit]

Bowowee, if you read the whole thread i cant see how you can say shes biased with the breed. I agree with most that the site shouldnt have been posted due to its content, but if she honestly felt posting it would serve some good purpose (the whole responsible dog owners thing) i have no problem with that. I understand Pit Bulls get alot of neg. news and attitude and this doesnt help, but it shouldnt mean we should all of a sudden never say a bad word against them. I think as long as a thread isnt intended to deliberately cause trouble, people should be able to post subjects on any breed, good or bad, and hope that people who read it wont base their entire views on the breed on a few bad articles etc.

lmao poor mods.. doing a good job I see though ;)

Listen one and all..

There is NEVER a bad dog.. just a BAD owner
Keep this in mind next time you decide to bash a single dog.. how about you step back and look at look at who owned it.
Some of the people who own Pitbulls are low income, low end of society type people who need a "tough dog" to stand out, or feel more superior. This in turn creates TONS of bad publicity to the breed. yes.. i know its stereotypical.. lol sorry to all who own pitbulls right now. My grandmother used to own one and she was the most gentle thing You'd ever meet. I personally Love pits!

And Of course, bad news carries quicker then good news... Reporters dont want articles like "heroic dog saves baby" they want something juicy like "vicious dog rips apart kid".. now which one would you more then likely read first..

Excuse me? You are just a hater and a trouble maker!! I have nothing against the breed, in fact, I wouldnt mind owning one!! The reason why I posted this was to let people know the dangers of irresponsible breeding and ownership, there is no harm in that. If the pic was of a rottie attack, I would have posted that too. [mod edit] I am glad to explain myself. Quit making assumptions. Oh, and how am I biased, what did I say that is sooo biased??

Is it too late to add my 2 cents on the discussion?? I read this whole thread and was wondering Rottiegirl why you posted pics of a dog attack when you werent sure if it was a dog attack or not. I know you wanted to educate people through those pics about pitbull attacks but because of your thread and other stories I have read about pitbull attacks Im now scared of pitbulls. :(

Well, I am almost 100% sure that it is a dog attack whether it was caused by a pit bull or not. I have seen many dog attack pics from an attourney, and I can safely say that the attack looks like it was caused by a dog. Dogs can cause alot of damage, whether it be tearing skin, crushing bones, and even scalping. Any good sized dog can do that kind of damage. I would be glad to post other pics of dog attacks so you can compare and see for yourself that it looks very similar to a dog attack, but I am pretty sure that nobody wants anymore gruesome pics on this forum again. I wouldnt be scared of all pits just because you have heard of attacks from them, there are alot of very nice pits out there. Any breed can be dangerous, it just depends on the owners.

Rottiegirl, I agree. I have no doubt that there are nice pitbulls out there, but Im still scared of them.. lol I have owned 2 big German Shepherds before and I do agree with you saying it depends on the owners whether a dog is nice or not. My Germans Sheps were very well trained and very loving dogs.

When I had my German Sheps we had Rots living behind us and they were loving to their family but acted vicious towards people walking by ie almost pounding down their fence with their paws everytime a person walked by on the sidewalk. Even though Im frightened by pitbulls I do respect the responsible owners who own pitbulls, rots, germans sheps ect.. simply because I once owned a breed on the "aggresive dog list" and I know how loving German Sheps can be :)

I am also afraid of dogs that are barking and growling at me through a fence, no matter what the breed, but I am not afraid of a certain breed. Any breed is capable of attacking a person. Maybe you will become less afraid, if you meat some nice pit bulls and become more comfortable with them. I go to the dog park and there is always nice pit bulls there, so I am pretty used to being around them often. They are great dogs, most of them act just like labradors.

I admit there are some nice pits out there and that any breed can attack. It just all boils down to the fact that certain breeds are easier to provoke than others based on the disposition of the dog its situation. (IE- German Sheps have been known to make great family companions and are generally protective of the children).

The nice pit I met was my cousins female, Jasmine, while she was nice in the prescence of my cousin, she became "aggressive" if I or someone else walked by the yard, pulling at her chain, growling, barking and such. The only time I would go into the yard is if my cousin was out there with me. Sometimes the dog is being protective.

Labs can do police work, but it is generally limited to using their sniffer. German Sheps, Malimois are used for officer protection and apprehension.

Come on there are some nice pit and some bad ones. rottiegirl's just wanted to share the article. I don't understand why some of you just have to attack on an article. I feel intimidated to just post anything.

Yeah, you can say that again! I am intimidated to post different things. I have to think very carefuly before I post. People should be more open minded.
