Official "Dinner" Thread

I made these for football watching last night, and they were a huge hit. They are very mildly spicy, and very addictive.

Jalapeno Poppers
12 fresh jalapenos
1 package cream cheese
1 package bacon

Wear gloves before handling the jalapenos. Cut off the stem end, cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Put the jalapeno halves in a big bowl of cold water to soak for about 30 minutes. Change the water 3-4 times during soaking. This will leach out the extreme heat from the jalapenos. Warning: you can skip this step, but the poppers will be insanely hot and spicy.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut the bacon strips in half, right down the middle of the package. Fill each jalapeno half with a generous dollop of cream cheese and wrap with a piece of bacon. Bake the poppers on a lightly greased cookie tray for about 35 minutes, or until the jalapenos are tender and the bacon is crispy.

Oh yeah, I am SO going to try these out! We love poppers...........but the ones we order in restaurants are normally breaded and deep fried

Ryan's Lazy Bologna Sandwich was on the menu tonight

2 peices of white (or wheat) bread
Mayo
Cheese
Bologna

Untwist bread. Take said peices of bread. Spread with mayo. Open up cheese package. Carefully place cheese in center of bread. Take out peaice of bologna, careful not to grab more than 1 peice. Peel off red ring around bologna. Slap bologna on top of cheese. Slap other peice of bread on bologna. Throw away cheese wrapper and red ring from bologna. Twist tie back the bread. Wash the knife used to spread the mayo. Place mayo, bologna, and cheese back in fridge.

BAM! what a amazing dinner ;)

:rofl1:

I had sushi the other night and tex-mex last night.

You can keep the sushi..........only my oldest son will eat that junk. I BARELY like fish cooked ;)

I am thinking frozen pizza tonight, I am just too tired and I know we have at least 3 tombstones in the back freezer, LOL

You know that Sushi is not necessarily fish, right? The word "sushi" actually refers to the rice.

Tonight I made

Pork medallions with a fig glazed
Carrots
Wild Rice

Dessert
Apple Brown Betty

That sounds very yummy bunny.........I DID make frozen pizza and the only bright spot was I didn't over eat because it was awful, LOL

No I did NOT know that eddie, LOL...........to me the term Sushi has always meant raw fish in some form.

I guess I will read up on it more :D

Went to one of my favorite restaurants last night. Scoma's in San Francisco. #74 Shellfish Saute. Yummy yummy :D

Patat shoarma with extra red chili and garlic sauce. *drools* Snack shop food is de best! :lol-sign:

Last night I was bad and had a burger and fries from Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Soooo good!

Tonight I'm having chicken stirfry :D

Well, tonight is going to be airplane food. I'm heading to the airport in about an hour and have a coast to coast flight. $7 for a crappy chicken salad sandwich and $2 for a can of coke for dinner for me.

I made smokey corn chowder for dinner last night and it was yummy!

Tonight we are having marinated chipotle chicken breast on the grill with steamed veggies.

Dutch Meatloaf
Mashed Potatoes with caramelized onions
Sweet corn on the cob

Dessert:
Undecided still. Something quick and easy, like brownies or a chocolate cake?

I'm baking a few baby backs ...doing an acorn squash at the same time .....steaming an ear of corn and have a small tub of apple sauce .

I got a big old pot of Chili Mac on the stove simmering right now. It's basically a pot of home made chili with shell pasta tossed in, LOL, the kids like it that way :)

It's amazing me how many carry in ! I buy a slab of baby backs and cut into four and freeze 3 . I figure my whole dinner tonight is less than $3.00 .

I lied. They seem to not have Little Caesar's in Buffalo. Grrr
So we had to buy a non-5 dollar pizza--of which I ate one slice
