I drove through Musquodoboit Harbour and Musquodoboit going from Halifax to Sherbrooke a few times. It was about a three hour drive if I recall, and loved it! The highway more or less follows the contours of the coast, so most of these villages are where there are bays, rivers, or other natural harbours. Almost guarantee that at every one if you start going 'inland' there will be a bridge of some sort, then you'll start going back out towards the ocean.

I never made it to Lunenburg or to Cape Breton Island, those will have to wait for a vacation someday I guess. I did however make a couple trips along the 'northern' side of the Bay of Fundy to Parrsboro, one of the fellows working with us lived near there.

Be sure to make it to Cape Breton and drive around the Cabot trail, it is so beautiful! And if you can plan it, go in the fall- it will take your breath away! Snip is right, Parrsboro and the surrounding area is really nice to see too. But on the side of the Fundy you will be on, go and see Cape Split. Remember your camera! It's funny that I never think to mention Lunenburg (because I grew up there!), it is a beautiful place. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site beacause of the architecture. I recommend turning it into a day trip that includes Mahone Bay and Chester. I'm sure you'll like it here!
