Well, Morgan celebrated his good day on Friday by chewing up one of Jon's shoes. In his defense, the shoe was left in a place where shoes should never be left (because Morgan will find and chew them), but still... that was a bummer.

In any case, we cleaned up the shoe and didn't think much more of it. It's not the first time he's shredded something he finds. We all went to bed and that was the end of it.

Or so we thought...

We left to visit my grandparent's in Michigan early yesterday (Saturday) morning and dropped Morgan off at my friends house. Morgan and her dog are best buds.

Not even an hour later, I got a text from my friend asking if green poop and vomit were normal.

I start freaking out in the car. What horrible illness does my poor dog have?!? Then I remembered the shoe...

Yes, my friend says, it does look like Morgan is puking up shoe parts.

:wall:

Apparently he never missed a beat, though. He spent all day running, playing, wrestling... and regurgitating.

Gross!

I feel so bad for my friend! And even worse for her boyfriend. He was the only one home with the upchucking began, and he's not nearly as dog savvy as she is. In any case, I can't imagine it would be fun to be dog-sitting for a sick dog. Ugh!

Morgan is doing fine now. We are pretty sure that he's purged everything from his system, but we are keeping a close eye on him just in case. My friend said he had a small dinner and a small breakfast and he's kept them both down. Now he's sleeping like a log... not sure if that is related to playing like a maniac all day or to being sick all day... but in any case I think today is going to be very quiet for him.

So yeah... if you're reading this, please think of some good vibes for Morgan! I hope hope hope HOPE that the shoe is gone and that he doesn't have any lingering complications, like a blockage. He seems to be feeling okay right now, just sleepy, but still. Worry worry worry!

He didn't have any tummy problems yesterday. In fact, he spent most of the day sleeping. We had to leave for a little bit in the afternoon, and we decided to put him in his crate for the first time in a few weeks just so he would have someplace "safe" after his eventful weekend.

After his dinner last night he ran around the yard playing with a frisbee as though nothing had ever happened, so I'm sure he will be fine. I'm going to give him a few more days to make sure that his breakfasts/dinners are going through properly, but I'm not nearly as worried as I was two days ago. :)

Apparently he is feeling fine because when I got home today he had eaten a pair of your underwear.

Well at least he chewed them up. It does not look like he swallowed them this time at least.
