Due to a "change of format" the Greater Kansas City Humane Society has made to their Art Unleashed I have decided to pull my piece from their auction. This is done with a heavy heart, but I protest the "new format" and I will leave it at that. When i picked it up this morning I told the vet if in the future they choose to change it back to the way it was, I will come back. So this piece is now headed for KC PET PROJECT and they may sell it or do what they wish to help their shelter. In the end it really doesn't' matter where it goes, as long as the purpose of changing even a little misery is accomplished. I was contacted by my friend who is the high up of KC PET PROJECT and let her know she could have it, and she said they would be more than glad for my donation.
I set one month aside, usually February to make something toward the greater good. I put my heart into it, and try to put out the best message I can, not only to help the never ending stream of need, but also to show appreciation for the volunteers that do all the footwork. I have never donated just an extra piece i had laying around. Heavens willing next year I will make another piece and send it to KCPP. After 15 years without missing one auction, it's a shame to have to walk away like this. I still highly value all of GKCHS efforts, and their not for profit clinic is priceless. I hope they do well with their auction this year.
