it isn't. :( i just replied to your PM.

added for general info for other folks who want to know:
here in L.A. you usually pay around $6 for the 5 lb, $21 for the 20 lb and $35 to $37 for the 40 lb bag. sometimes the price is a little higher, but i've never seen the large bag go for more than $45.

That's not really normal for us. That is more than we would have to spend on Innova. A 40 pound bag of Canidae costs us about $35 at the store that we go to. I never really mooked at how much the smaller bags cost because it's much easier to buy the larger bag to feed my two cows (LOL ;))

Bought a 40 lb bag today for $31.00 at the Co-Op feed store. The 5lb senior was $6.95.

Remember money exchange. The US dollar is worth more then the Canadian so their prices appear to be less.

In the Ottawa area a 40 lb bag is between $65-$72.

I retail Canidae, and I live in Canada. My prices are:
Canidae Dry - 33.6lb -$42.95
Canidae Dry - 16.5lb -$27.20
Canidae Dry - 6.7lb -$11.27

I don't know where you people are getting the 40lb bags:) That size is not even on my list:(
I sell my food only 15% of the price I purchase it for. Most retail stores mark up 50%...plus I buy from a distributor who buys from another distributor who buys from Canidae. This also makes a huge impact on the pricing. In the States the price is going to be lower due to exchange on the dollar and also they probably only go through one distributor.

Natura products in my area only go through one distributor...we have a retail store who purchases from a distributor who purchase direct from Natura. That can make a HUGE impact on prices.

So, for a 40lb bag you are not paying a huge amount of money. You may find it economical to rotate between Canidae and Holistic Blend...Holistic Blend is a wonderful food and can be purchased in the holistic/natural food section of the Superstore. The price here in New Brunswick for a 35lb bag of Holistic Blend -Lamb is $49.99...chicken is $59.99. I know, odd that the chicken is more expensive than lamb...that threw me off at first.

Do you work in a dog related business? would your boss allow you to retail dog food? If so, you can save a lot of money by buying at cost. If you want I can PM you some information of how I went about retailing dog food:)

You can even retail dog food from any shop etc. If you don't have a shop then you have to set up your own company...which costs money.:( . One local lady has a children's clothing store and sells Natura...the other lady owns a wine making shop and sells Natura.:)

What you could do is perhaps talk to your employer, a breeder can get dog food in and sell...breeders are very special in the eyes of the dog food industry:) Go to the Canidae website and e-mail the company requesting info on retailing their food. They got back to me very quickly.

Or, go on their website and check out retailers by your area code. Call around and see who has the best price. Some stores mark up the 50% some go lower...it pays to check around.

I dont know if my boss would. They use and recommend TLC Dog Food.

I will look at the website to try to find another retailer.Sasha really likes it so I want to continue with it.I wish he would just charge a little less.I really like his store since there are no animals sold there at all.

That's too bad about your employer.

Maybe if you contact Canidae you could work something out, or go online to some sites where you may be able to order and have food shipped...it may turn out to be cheaper...even an American online order could prove to be cheaper. Try looking on Sitstay.com they sell dog food (I don't know if they have Canidae, but, they have some other good foods). Do you have a Superstore? I believe all the Superstore supermarkets sell Holistic Blend which is an excellent inexpensive food.

Good luck

It's funny how huge the price range is. I pay $33.90 with tax (6.3% on 31.89 i think). I'm in Kansas. If I'm doing the math right it's around $40 canadian. My dogs do really well on it too and my picky eater eats it. Good Luck.
