I read a little on another thread of chocolate btu it was chocolate cake so I'm not sure if its different. She ate about a 1/2 of a circle cake, it wasn't the hug cake I don't really know how to describe how much she ate but it was a good amount. She had a little diareha type stuff but it wasn't all diereha. Do you think she is ok?

I am not a vet, but I think solid chocolate is more of a danger than chocolate cake. I would call your vet in the morning.

I would call the vet, but I think it's going to be okay. The worst thing is solid dark chocolate or baking chocolate. If it was chocolate cake, I'm thinking the actual chocolate content was pretty low when you think of all the flour, butter, eggs, milk, etc... Hope Nike's ok!

She may be okay. I know someone who feeds her dog M&Ms as a treat on a regular basis because her doctor says its fine. Though it makes me nervous. Her dog has never gotten sick though. But I would just keep on eye on her and if she doesen't seem okay call the vet. But I think everything SHOULD be fine. But im no professional.

I wouldn't worry about that too much :) I once had a twelve week old sheltie who got into about .25 lbs of dark chocolate. He was just fine :)

My first rescue dog Baron a pitbull/shepard/lab mix ate a whole pan of chocolate brownies one night as they were sitting on top of the stove. He was absolutely fine and never had any problems after so I wouldn't worry to much.

Just watch him. Some dogs are more sensitive then others. Katie has gotten into chocolate quite a few times, and she's always been ok. ( i know im a bad mom....she learned how to counter surf overnight though..lol )

Just keep an eye on him! :)

It really depends on the chocolate used in the recipes. Regular milk chocolate isn't very high in cocoa, while dark chocolate is, and it's the cocoa content that's the problem.

I do not understand how any vet can tell people it's "okay" to feed a dog high-sugar foods on a regular basis though. That's just insane.
