Have a couple of additions to the household... We've been looking around for a pasture buddy for Sis' horse, Ethan. He's been an only horse since we lost Sparky last fall and we've been having 'play dates' in pasture with a neighbor's old mare, so he has someone to hang out with during the day. Ethan doesn't do well alone and it's a problem when the weather is bad, plus the mare is already 30 yrs. old, so we've been looking for a retiree closer to Ethan's age (20).
Talked to a gal who runs a rescue and she knew a woman who was looking to rehome a couple of her older horses (going through a divorce), so we met and agreed to take her QH, Buddy. He's about 24, pretty laid back and I think his 'true' name is AreYouGonnaEatThat? We thought Ethan was a vacuum when it came to feed, but Buddy has him beat, hooves down. Lol!

Next addition is a cat - neighbor bowls with a woman, who lost her husband, then her house and had to move in with her daughter and son-in-law. Her cat was not making the transition well, daughter has 3 kids and 3 cats, all of whom were tormenting the new cat, Molly. Son-in-law was also inclined to let Molly outside - bad idea since Molly is declawed. So, we said yes, we'd take her. Poor kitty is pretty traumatized by all the moves - finally starting to eat but mostly she hides in Sis' bathroom. We've been keeping the rest of the cats away from her until she settles in.
Crummy cell phone pic of Molly.
