I just discovered a new Dog food store near my house and they offer Raw Diets (thinking about switching). Two I am thinking (that they offer) Northwest Natural Raw Frozen Diet and Nature's Variety Raw Frozen Diet.

Do any of you have opinions or experience with either? Any help you can give would be great!

Thanks

I feed my dogs the Natures Variety Raw frozen patties for their PM meal. They love them and I have had no problems what-so-ever with them. I feed the Turkey/Chicken and Lamb. They make really tiny poop too ;) They have only been on them a little over two weeks and I am already noticing brighter eyes and softer coats. I really think my dogs are benefiting greatly from these and they make it easy for me to incorporate a little raw into their diets.

How many times a day do you feed in general? What do you feed the other times? Do you think this could be the only food or just a "part" of a great diet.

I feed Nature's Variety raw frozen medallions (beef or lamb, mostly) and I think they're wonderful. I noticed a big improvement in my dog's energy level and coat, plus she loves them which is plus with such a picky eater.

I haven't heard of Northwest Naturals.

Edit: I feed twice a day. You don't have to feed only raw, you can include it as part of a more varied diet.

We use the Nature's Variety raw frozen medallions as well for my dogs' dinner. They get the venison variety, and they are great. My dogs love them! For their food in the AM they get Timberwolf Organics.

My dogs get kibble in the morning and the Nature's Variety patties at night. The medallions are the same thing, just smaller medallions instead of the larger patties. If I could afford it, I would just feed the raw Nature's Variety and no kibble, but with 4 dogs I have to do half kibble and half raw. I think it would be really great if it was the sole diet for your dogs. If you can afford it, go for it!

That's how it is with me as well... if I only fed the raw, it would cost $60 a month for the three of my dogs. Instead, I do kibble in the morning and raw in the PM. It works out well, though.
