I ran into a lady yesterday who is moving into her fiancés house and isn't able to take the dogs apparently. The first is a corgi-mix of some sort, maybe beagle, female, about 11 years old. Originally a rescue as well. The second is a 13-year old female black lab mix. Both dogs are apparently used to be outdoors most of the time, if not all, but this new house has no yard. She is going to euthanize them if a rescue isn't found; says she doesn't want to but doesn't know what else to do.

Great, chose the guy over your dogs. Sounds like a great guy!

Sorry, this just angers me and had to say something.

yeah, you couldn't pry my dogs away from my cold lifeless body... I would never give them up for a guy! I still can never understand the moving excuse... how is it an excuse? If they don't like you take your animal, then live elsewhere...

But, I'm sure if you contact private rescues they might be able to help. Poor dogs...

I would totally give up my dog for a guy.

And my career.

And I would wear what he told me to.

And I would only speak when spoken to.

... seriously, where does it end?

Too bad you're too far away, there's a really cool senior dog rescue around here i just discovered a few weekends ago. Good luck!

Yeah I don't understand it either...they're moving from a really nice huge house with a yard and awesome deck to some little cramped home that they plan to build an addition on to. I had to hold my tongue, as she's a regular up at my bar job and could make my life difficult if I pissed her off. Not that I think she's that sort of person, but still.

I need to meet and evaluate these dogs anyway...I have my doubts on the black one. The corgi mix could be a candidate.

That is so sad. I would NEVER give my dogs up for a man..or anyone. Why is she moving from a big house with a yard into a tiny house with no yard anyway?

what a pair. That's pathetic.

Well, I just discovered there's a brand spanking new senior dog rescue in Columbus... but you're in Kansas!

The ONLY reason I can imagine is if a family falls on hard times and has NO other choice but to move somewhere that does not allow animals. But would hope they would exhaust every other option first, especially if they had senior-aged animals!

But I'm with ya'll. Couldn't pry my animals away and suspect the "moving" excuse most times is exacly that ... an excuse but not a sound reason. Nobody's gonna tell me "but you don't understand" ...uhhh, yep I do! First met my guy on a vacation across the country, he couldn't move because he has a custodial son who is on every-other-weekend visitation with my guy's ex.

Wasn't sure I even wanted to move that far ... and both of us were package deals. He had a custodial child, a wolfdog, and two cats; I had a Golden Retriever and a few cats that I refused to ship by air. So he got a pet-sitter for his furkids, then drove across the country and drove me and my animals across again. My car was shipped instead of my pets and we stayed at pet-friendly places along the way. We all had a lot of fun on that trip. But it's why I really take the "moving" excuse with a whole big bag of salt!

Zoom, sure hope you can find a rescue for those two! If there's no senior rescue in your state ... is there one in a neighboring state that might willing to take them?
