My dog Daisy is a teacup Shitzu/Poodle Mix and about 4 months old. After she eats here food she starts to shiver like she is cold. It goes away after a couple of minutes. Is this something I should worry about? Thanks, Amy. :)

Do you mind me asking where you got Daisy from? A lot of "teacup" dogs suffer from a lot of diseases and disorders due to poor breeding.

Don't a lot of those little teacup dogs just shake a lot in general? I used to work at Petsmart, and almost every single teacup I saw would shake like that. I just thought it was a normal thing for them to do. If you're concerned, call your vet. It never hurts to ask.

I got my teacup dog Daisy from a lady in Langsing, Michigan like 3 weeks ago. She breeds Teacup/Toy Sized Poodles and Shitzu's. Both of her parents were on site when I bought her and they both seemed very healthy. The dad Poodle weighed around 3 pounds and the mom Shitzu weighed about 4 pounds. She did give me a guarantee when I bought her and I took her to 2 vets already and they said she was completely healthy, she also had one of those fecal smears done. I never told them about how she shakes after she eats because I just noticed her doing this yesterday. She is do for a shot Sept. 2 this Friday so I am going to mention it then. Other then the shaking after she eats she acts completely normal. Amy.

wait, so she's a tiny...mutt? Get her looked at, but I bet it's just a quirk.

...I can't find a good way to mix those two names...

My boyfriend's mom has a shih tzu and he shivers all of the time. Vets say he's fine, but I would take your's to the vet just in case!

Pootzu?

Pooshitz?
Those were the ones that immediately came to mind, but I didn't know if they'd make it past the filter. :) And who really wants to admit to owning a Pooshitz?

are you on any special medications? LOL j/k...

I know nothing about shaking, but I've seen teacup dogs shaking before, and I also thought it was natural

Definetly take him to a vet just to be sure ;)

amy just ask the vet... and it was kinda uncalled for to call the dog she loves a mutt. if it is from two purebreed dogs that is not okay but still i think calling it a mutt to her mother was uncalled for

"Mutt" isn't a bad word :) I don't think Zoom meant it in a bad way. Mutts can make great pets... though I wouldn't buy one from a breeder.

I just got her looked at and they said it is absolutely normal for them to shake like that because their body temperature is always changing when they are small like that. Amy.

Yeah I really don't mind anyone calling her a mutt, I bought a mix breed because I only got her for $650.00. Everyone thinks I am crazy for paying that much but when I seen her I just had to have her! I had to sell my last dog's Louis Vuitton carrier to pay for her. My last dog was a AKC Registered teacup Maltese that I payed $1000 for but she passed away of a seizure like 5 weeks ago. Her name way Kylie and I had her for about 1 yr. 1/2. I used to go to a vet here where I live but I blame them for my dog dying (really long story) so that's why I bring my new teacup dog Daisy to a vet about 30 min. from where I live. I think I got my teacup dog Daisy really cheap though no matter what anybody else says because I searched for a couple of weeks and all I found was teacup Yorkie's but they wanted like $1,900. Living in Michigan sucks though because teacup dogs are really hard to find here. Well anyways....that's for everyone's help. Amy.
