How long after the pill did they go away? Because It's been 5 Days since he had the tapeworm shot and I still see the tapeworm's sesame looking eggs on his fur.. but only one or two.. not like before i'd see like 5 or 6.. or i'd find them in his bedding.. im just nervous that they aren't gone yet..

Hmmm. Well I don't remember seeing them at all after we gave him the pill but it sounds like you had a more severe case. Maybe just give the vet a call and check with him/her. It seems like if you are finding them and the eggs then he could just re-contaminate. Are you 100% that they are tapeworms?

If you're still seeing them he's still got them in all probability. You need to thoroughly clean all the bedding and dust it with a flea killer, leaving it away from him for a few days to let it work and then air out so he doesn't breathe or pick up any of the flea killer. Tapeworms are carried and transmitted primarily by fleas, so getting rid of any fleas is a first line of defense against further tapeworm infections.

Ah yes. I forgot that we had cleaned to whole apartment and threw out his old chair which he loved. :( It couldn't be cleaned he'd pulled all the stuffing out and laid on it. If you don't do that it will re-contaminate.

I actually did the whole works.. the flea powder on the carpet for an hour and then vacuum.. i did it on his bedding..and i also steam cleaned the carpet and then did my bedding..

the vet said he can't re-contaminate himself from the eggs cause they are dead/dried.. only by fleas.. but i totally forgot to ask how long till i see results..

he has a flea collar (which the vet said isn't that great) .. but i hate the collar cause he's sooo tiny.. and i put it tight enough, but not so much that he can't breath or my fingers don't fit through.. but he always chews it and gets stuck in his mouth! and he stays stuck like that till i find him somewhere with saliva all over him...im scared he's going to poison himself with it.. if thats possible?

I want to use that liquid stuff that you put on their back.. it comes with like 3 small tubes.. but it says i can't use it for puppies under 12 weeks  .. i want to make sure i got rid of all the fleas...

he has gone through soo much.. and i've only had him for 2 weeks... i need to get insurance for him because i have to pay $200+ per visit to the emergency vet and im broke! ok i don't make any sense anymore.. im just anxious/worried...

Flea Collars

My opinion....flea collars do not work. My family used to use them on my first dog we had a long time ago and they absolutely did not work. (I dont know anyone that has had success with them, but maybe I'm wrong) We use either advantage or frontline on our babies now. And those two have seemed to work the best. Once you put it on, you can litterally see the fleas jumping off and dying. (Ask your vet about one that will be good for a young puppy. It usually goes by weight but ask them anyway) When I got my kitties, Romeo and Juliet, they had fleas all over them. I used the advantage on them and within an hour, all of them were gone. If you use it though, I suggest putting your puppy in its crate or somewhere that you wont mind having dead fleas on because if he has them on him, they will jump off everywhere. I had my kitties in a little box when I did it. I put it on them when I thought they were gonna get kind of sleepy so that way by the time they got up from their naps, the fleas would be gone. Anyway, I hope this info helps you out...good luck with your little puppy. :)

Um, cockapoos and labradoodles AREN'T breeds. Nor are any 'poos' or 'doodles'. And the people who breed them, even if they are nice, AREN'T reputable breeders. If you want a mutt, go to the animal shelter and save a life. If you want a hypoallergenic dog, there are plenty of purebreds out there from reputable breeders that are.
Those of us that own "poos" are perfectly aware that they aren't "breeds"...well, yet. All "breeds" started out this way. But I must take exception to your broad assumption that everyone who breeds a cockapoo is irresponsible. The cockapoo has been around since the 50's. I had one as a kid - my first dog, in the early 70's. And my first dog as an adult (Sophie, in my avatar) is also a cockapoo. I don't know much about other "poo" breeds but the cockapoo is NOT a fly-by-night creation.

There are many very very reputable cockapoo breeders in both the US and England (there is an English version of the cockapoo as well, derived from the English Cocker Spaniel). There are also, I'm sure, very many unreputable breeders - JUST AS there are very many unreputable breeders of purebred AKC dogs. We can only educate ourselves about what criteria makes a reputable breeder and then decide which breeder to use.

Please see http://www.cockapooclub.com/ to learn more about these wonderful dogs. This is one of three national organizations monitoring cockapoo breeding.

In my opinion, it makes no sense to me to justify getting a cockapoo over getting a shelter dog any more than it does to get an AKC/purebred dog over a shelter dog. Either way, the shelter dog isn't going home with you.
