How about building a small shed or barn.... put a pet pony or goat in it for your grandson. Store your grain there. Most of the mice will set up house keeping in your barn. LOL.
Sorry you're having such a time. I also get a few mice now and then just before winter. They try to get in from the cold. Once one must have been under my stove/oven and Toker would lie there with her nose right by the crack between the stove and the floor. She wanted to get that mouse in the worst way. She'd lie there forever, intent on that spot. But needless to say, she couldn't reach it. I had to use Decon and put it way back behind so the dogs couldn't get it. And I hate the thought of killing them, but what are you going to do? You can't let them multiply. They really can wreak havoc on your house and stuff. I hope you solve the problem.
